Young Journalist from Gundmi Dies of H1N1
Udupi: A young journalist has reportedly died of H1N1 (swine flu) at a private hospital in Manipal on Wednesday night, April 8.
The deceased has been identified as Archana Gundmi, a resident of Sastan, Gundmi. She was working as a journalist at a local news channel.
According to the family, Archana was admitted to the hospital 14 days ago, where she tested positive for H1N1 and was undergoing treatment. In the first medical test carried out by the hospital, the report came back negative. For the second test, the hospital sent the blood samples to a lab in Pune. The test results came back positive. However, she did not respond to the treatment and unfortunately passed away.
Archana was married Ganesh four months ago and was also pregnant.
