Somebody whom I know and who had interaction with Hema Malini told me that this lady is arrogant and though she has been in Bollywood for many years, however, her Hindi has a South Indian accent. Further, it appears that, considering her stature and the fact that she may have extensively travelled both in India and the globe, she is not that worldy wise. I have been given to understand that she is from Iyengar community, who are orthodox and conservative. How come she married an already man? Well, in the past he was called the macho man. Who knows?

No wonder – people prefer to settle things with an instant delivery of justice (public beatings) even before informing Police. Another sign of third-world country!!

  • From A. S. Mathew on When you enter India

Very interesting reality of our trips to the beloved motherland. Last time when I went to India, I kept some pens with me, when I saw the pen borrowing commotion as the author has indicated, I started giving them a pen each, they looked at me as if I gave them an ounce of gold. How classical explanation was that of the custom officer, 100% correct. They are looking at the tired passengers like international smugglers. The Customs officers used to be too hard-headed but now they are a lot milder towards the passengers from some countries. Two months before the travel to India, in the olden days, we were constantly bombarded with the tormenting examination before the customs officers who are degree holders in the ” trick of smuggling”. Finally comes the questions from the parents and relatives, sometimes we need to narrate from the boarding to the landing episode including the dietary details. The relatives will be looking for the magic inside the luggage. If the distribution of gifts is not fairly satisfactory, we can watch devil’s incarnation in their faces; even after giving everything to please them, still they won’t say a thank you but will find some quality defect of the goods. What a wonderful new world?

  • From Mangal on Two Indians killed in Kuwait blast

Mr. Shaikh, Sir, on the one hand you say “I had stayed in kingdom (Saudi Arabia) never felt discrimination because of my race, religion or skin colour”. Good news indeed. And then you say something that sounds just the opposite: “There are Millions working class in Middle East doing modern day slavery to support there backend meet”. Although a reader might be curious to know as to what does the backend have to do here, let us not digress. If you did not feel discriminated against, that is good news. But how can you then claim that there are millions who are going through “modern day slavery” in those same lands where people do not practise slavery? If indeed you want me to believe you when you say that slavery does exist in those lands, is this a better form of slavery than what is faced by the blacks in USA and/or the caste-system in India? Or worse? As I am keen to understand this puzzle, I would be happy if you elaborated on what you have said. The reason for my curiosity is two-fold: (a) I would like to know why any type of research is suppressed in the Middle-East, and (b) Why various claims are made about evil that is practised by the whites, Jewish and Indians, when in fact, it may be no worse than what is practised in the Middle East. I do not blame you for the ills of the Middle East. It is entirely a problem of the people of those lands. But you possibly understand better than me and other readers here as to why such a complex scenario is created by our brothers in the Middle East. Would you care to elaborate?

Exceptions did exist, but few.Brother Mr.Mangal Sir,I have already address his issue once and there is no point of return wasting time. You do believe that there are some exception and black sheep in each community. We need to start recognize the good rather than digging dirt. There are many Millions working class in Middle East doing modern day slavery to support there backend meet. If one does not stand on his own foot we are all slaves of Almighty. Serve Allah . . . and do good – to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are near, neighbors who are strangers, the Companion by your side, the way-farer (you meet), and what your right hands possess [i.e. your slaves] . . . (4:36) By teaching us to be grateful for being created, to “do good” to both our parents and our “slaves,” the Qur’an once again emphasizes the equality of Allah’s creation. A Creator so concerned with equality deserves respect. The Prophet Muhammad did not believe that only the slaves of a particular race, religion, or ethnicity should be freed; instead, he desired to break the chains of slaves all over the world. The fact that the Qur’an did so with a specificity unparalleled in a monotheistic holy text makes it one of the greatest of anti-slavery books, and Muhammad himself one of the greatest of abolitionists. Peace be upon him. We all need to answer the deeds aftermath. There are no excpections in his justice. Jai hind

  • From sHAIkh mohD rizwan on Lest we Forget: The Martyrdom of Vasant and Rajab

Dear readers, I appreciate the Mangalorean.com revising the memory real secularisum in the good olden days. Vasant and Rajab are plenty available to this date and they need to be anonymous due to the repercussion of consequence from siding or sheltering the victims. It is sad to see the dilapidated state of unity in Gujarat once Father of Nation Mahatama Gandhi laid freedom struggle and united the society that gave the independence to the nation. Though ‘East India’ company long vaccated the colony after sowing the deep hatered of ‘divide and rule’, a very small section of fandamantalist taken over the ruins to revive it to attain their goals. In his prayers Mahatama Gandhi united the communities by chanting ‘Eshwar,Allah’ and gave life to this nation with short breath by saying ‘Hey Ram’, the nation is yet to pay back his hard struggle. In today’s India the nations secular status is under great danger due to the biased ruling factions in the center. The invisible barrier of ‘Berlin wall’ is being already drawn dividing the communities once lived together sharing happiness and sorrow together. The absence of more Vasant and Rajab without them India can’t attain ‘development’ and poverty eradication. Our greatest diversity of this nation is unity.we can’t Incredible Indian’s if we don’t share our pain together. Jai Hind

Thank you Mr Shaikh. Sir, in explaining about the slavery, you have given many details and names of the Europeans. I must congratulate you on your research. I have no reason to doubt any of it. But somehow you have forgotten to provide any names of the Middle Eastern Sheikhs and business-men engaged in the vast slave trade. We are all human. Many of us do good things and bad. Our leaders drive policies that affect the lives of ordinary citizens. So we have a duty to conduct research and scrutinise our leaders’ actions at all times. If the West has progressed today, it is not just due to their horrendous colonial past. It is also because there is a liberal mindset where people can question most things. Exceptions do exist, but few. Many Middle Eastern people have lamented the fact that the Middle East discourages research and scrutinise most things. As an aside, I was reading an article yesterday by Ms Hania Sholkamy titled “Egypt’s love-hate relationship with research”, attempting to expose the near absence of research affecting the “own” people. However, you are not a Middle Eastern person. What is stopping you in disclosing the names of the many Middle Eastern sheikhs who collected the African slaves and sold them to everyone else: Europeans, Americans, Chinese, Indians, etc. Are you aware that Chinese and Indians bought slaves too? But it was the Middle Eastern sheikhs who managed the sourcing business. Europeans and others bought the slaves from the Middle Eastern sheikhs. Any research and scrutiny on the Middle East side of things would be much appreciated – as many readers would like the information from a very knowledgeable person like yourself.

List of Right Wing terror accused who are wanted but missing from ATS calendar 1. Amit alias Ashok @ Prince @ Sunny @ Ashwini @ Ashwini Chauhan – Wanted in Samjhauta Express Blasts in 2007. • From shaiKH moHD rizwan on Two Indians killed in Kuwait blast

There is much on slaves in GCC-Mr.Mangal Sir, The slavery is long before abolished in Islam by Prophet Muhammed(peace and blessing upon him). The last sermon of Prophet Muhammad which he delivered at Hajj, the annual pilgrimage made to Mecca by Muslims all over. “All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.” Remember, one day you will appear before God (The Creator) and you will answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. Habshi,Bilalal are the black companion of him stayed with him all along his life. When Islam has asked to abolish ‘slavery’ the great tide of ‘slaverisum’ began by the European colonials. The slavery is so rampant that blacks are forcefully taken as bonded labour on board the ships in danger voyage and many times thrown due health and food shortage in to the open seas. The Indians do share the same pain of slavery which took them to aliean nation like Guyana, Caribbean,Fiji where sugar plantations are grown under their Colonialism. The financial involvement of the Royal family and the country’s aristocracy were central to the growth of Britain’s slave trade and the slaving company known as the Royal Adventurers into Africa (1660) counted King Charles II as a backer. One bank that provided this service was run by Alexander and David Barclay and Barclays Bank still carries their name today. Another bank which rose from the profits of loaning credit to slavers was Barings Bank, whose founder Sir Francis Baring, claimed to have made his fortune as a slave dealer while only 16-years old.The Bank of England also featured heavily in the slave trade. Today what crisis in African continent suffering is the footprint of colonial past. Despite abundant natural resources and skilled labour they are forced to take arms for food to kill each other. Though I am old, I had stayed in kingdom never felt discrimination because of my race, religion or skin colour. I would request you to emphsises on the castism in India being democracy we need seperate quota to reserve the rights of outcasted. Thanks to the great Brahmical culture India is much divided on cast line than the pre colonial slavery.Despite 60 years of Independence we still cast the same treatment of post slavery. I would appreciate to correct your distorted fact with better subject knowledge. Jai hind

Thanks, Alfie, for a well written and well analyzed article on Mr. Roy Castelino whom I had the previlge to meet for few minutes during our short visit to Kala Angan last December. It was a delightful messge to read about Roy Castelino and all his noble work towards promotion of Konkany language and Konkany culture in Mangalore. Each language is attached with a history of culture and heritage and therefore Konkany language also has its own roots. There are hardly a handful of Konkany entrepreneurs that dedicate so much of time, talent and their energy towards our Mother Tongue, and it is nice to admit that Roy Castelino has contributed so much so far for the Konkany culture that we all belong. There are always critics in our society, like any other society, who come up with timely comments that can be detrimental to so many noble individuals that give so much back to the Society. Roy Castelino has acknowledged his own short comings and we need to applaud him for his frankness and sincerity in the matter. When so many individuals give so much to the community, there are always elements who have the right to come up with their own opinions. This is a difficultn world and changing too fast with more difficulties that each of us have to confront. Thank you Roy for all your dedications to our community. Best of luck to you, as always.

For all the popularity and resources spent on Cricket and Bollywood, they should be producing the best in the world. Instead, they can’t even win beat Bangla Desh. A nation of low performers and low expectations!!

  • From jerardin dsouza on Mangaluru : German Dr Jochen Becker-the King of Palliative Care Brings His Services to City

A Great insight into Palliative Care & Alzheimer’s affliction. Dr. Becker has provided a path creating effort to Mangalore & India. The First of its kind Course in Geriatrics Palliative Care. I was fortunate to be a Part of this First Batch which has given me a rare insight into Humanity & End of Life Care. The doctors I interacted with during the course were in Tears when they shared some intimate instances with the End Stage patients. Dr. Becker provided very sensitive learning by his delicate handling of very delicate situations. This was a Course mainly for MD qualified Doctors, so I had a rare chance to witness the working of a Doctors mind. The intricacies & the emotions a Doctor undergoes when breaking Bad News to the Family. My whole Palliative Care Experience was of immense value when I had to personally face a Tragedy of my own. Dr. Becker was a pillar of Strength to me & spent hours being there.I Salute Dear Alfie for bringing us up Close with Dr. Becker’s Life Story. Here is a German, who has made India, his very own. Dear Alfie is rendering ultimate Service to the Mangalore Community by providing Brilliant , Informative Articles, which can be used as Reference guides for the uninitiated. Kudos Dear Alfie & Thank You Dr. Jochen Becker for being the Kind & understanding person you are, to me , specially. THANKS. !!! Thanks mangalorean.com & Ms. Violet Madam, The Proprietor.–Love–Er. • From Horny Manatee on Bantwal: Bike-riders Snatch Chain from Woman, Only to Find it to be an Imitation Piece!

In a socialist state such as Europe I wouldn’t be surprised if this chain snatcher gets the legal right to sue the victim for wearing imitation jewellery. A burglar has the right in the West to sue the home owner if he gets attacked during robbery for disproportionate use of force. This is what happens when people get too many rights in a system with no accountability.

Another way of making money. I have experienced lot many times that they collect the hand baggage at the gates even if it is less that 7 kgs and if you have a back pack on your shoulder. Back pack cannot be considered as hand baggage as it contains only a laptop and travel documents. With such wierd way of acts, people have started to take advantage. Twice I carried frozen perishable foodstuff. Though I insisted that it has to go in the cabin at the gate they did took away my hand bag. While landed at my destination my hand bag never came and was reported missing. It could only arrive after 2 days, where the perishable foodstuff was all destroyed and AIE never accepted their mistake.

The future of a child depends on her/his aptitude. These can be perceived by the parents during their early days and of course during their scholastic studies. Perceiving these … they can be provided with valuable advice guidelines. There are cases where parents force their children to take up courses like medicine or engineering against their wishes and later on the mistakes are realized when it is too late. Mr. Annamalai’s advice in this direction is sound and practical and worth following.

SMR. Who ever blames an entire race or religion is 100% wrong, and in the same breath I would add that who ever covers up and refuses to speak against injustice should also be condemned. You are asking me to read history and all what happened several centures ago, but have you read Bill Durant’s book the Take over of India, this alone has left 80 million dead and counting. This is the single largest genocide in the World. In the present day you want to see what is going on, then please go to a website www.thereligionofpeace.com and you will see that since 9/11 there have been over 26240 terro attacks in the past 13+, this works out to about a 6 attacks a day. This website does not account for the terror attacks that were foiled, and if you add them them there the figure goes up by twice. By the way things are going this blood letting which has been going on for hundreds of years and is not going to stop in the forceable future. Especially, when people deliberately and intentionally twist the truth and blame every body else for their short comings, other than themselves.

Nobody deserves this uncivilized treatment in the hands of some illiterate folks. So, let me get this straight. A man was tied to electric pole, thrown chilly powder in his eyes, assaulted in public by ‘local youth’ and the entire incident was video recorded using a phone. And, Police weren’t even aware of this incident ? If this man was torturing his wife and kid, how come it wasn’t reported to Police? I am not sure who to blame – Our unhealthy tendency to settle every conflict using instant beatings OR Police for failing to establish a strong culture of law and order in our society. Our legal system also bears a huge responsibility for being notoriously inefficient in delivering justice. Finally, I have a question for our media who made a big deal about some pub attack. How come this incident is not making to national level even though the video footage is available? Is it because his name is Vaasudeva Bhatta and this doesn’t fit your narrative?

Read the history of Australian aboriginals or French colonialism of Haiti the systematic brutality is nothing less than Roof. The same narrative, false stories and imaginary fears of take over by ‘Blacks’ in US or the minorities in ‘India’, are responsible for increasing racism and hate crimes. Sadly, mass media is yet to learn to be responsible in this regard. So Wade Michale page, Andres Breivik, James Holmes and Dylann Roof are never described as terrorists but as ‘insane gunman’, ‘white supremacist’, ‘Temple shooter’, ‘Extremist’, or ‘Fundamentalist’. Muslim shooter= entire religion guilty Black shooter= entire race guilty White shooter= mentally troubled lone wolf. It is rightly said new media lost its credibility and gratitude. Jai hind

Sir, you state “The rights of blacks has been deprived in decades in Arathaid [sic] South Africa and so the colonial approach towards the black skin has never changed.” I am not qualified to either defend the rights of blacks, or castigating the whites for what they have done, and what they are doing. Representing a whole race is fraught with problems. Media usually does it. Simplifying such issues is not that simple. However, did you know that about 30% of Saudi Arabia’s population (and a sizable portion of other GCC countries) is made up of the African origin people? They were brought as slaves. And guess what Saudis call the African origin citizens even today? They call them Abd (= slave). Do these Abds get equal treatment? No. They are still in the third-grade category in Saudi Arabia. How many Abds are in the Shoura Council, the supreme appointed body of lawmakers – similar to our Rajya Sabha? None. How many Abds get teachers’ jobs? Hard to imagine if any get there! There is much more on Abds in the GCC. But I will let you investigate and write – in the interest of all the readers.

Original Duplicate of USA asks, “Are you going to accuse Netaji of Nazi connections?” Then he offers to teach RSS fabricated history to the gullible! In fact, Netaji rebelled against Mahatma Gandhi, he formed “Forward Block” faction within Congress to fight against Gandhi, then fled the country and established connections with Hitler and Japan, as they were enemies of our enemy, i. e. Great Britain. The Indian Soldiers in the British Army, who did not heed to the call of Gandhi not to help the British in the World War ll, went to the Eastern War Theatre under Mountbatten to fight against the Axis Forces, comprising of Germany and Japan. When Japan defeated the British and imprisoned the Indian Soldiers as Prisoners of war, then and then only, they changed their allegiance and Joined Azad Hind Fawj of Subhas, just to get freedom from the Japanese army! There is a wrong perception that the persons who joined the AHF were all patriotic Indians. Most of them were not. Persons like Laxmi Sehgal, Hundi Vishnu Kamath IAS, etc. were exceptions, and they were not from the defeated lot of the British soldiers of Indian Origin! This is to teach Duplicate about the Original truth.

The current violence and madness can be easily explained by the tribal and religious division that go all the way back to 7th century fantasy book. However, the habitual liars will always blame everything else except the real root cause for today’s madness. The rivalry between Saudi(sunni) and Iran(shia) factions and absence of democracy, human rights and individual freedom in ‘peaceful’ belt can’t be blamed on Sri Modiji or Sri Bush-ji !! • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Mangaluru: Doctors Should not Treat Patients as Revenue Generators - Dr Ganapathi

What a wonderful message on Health Care and the relevant costs that comes from the Workshop that took place at Fr. Muller’s Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Ganapathi, for your timely and thoughtful message that will instill some useful ideas for the young Medical Doctors that are about to begin their Medical careers. Health Care is a costly investment nowadays due to the fact that more and more research has become prevalent and the patients require the best possible diagnosis and cure. Cost is a major factor for consideration both for the patients as well as the Medical Institute. This is where the Medical Insurance plays an important role in the United States where the patient’s rights are fully protected and the timely medical treatment is granted by the Medical Institution in consultation with the Insurance Underwriters. The Medical Institutes have to make sure where the money comes from towards the deserving medical treatment to the patients. The costly investments towards new instruments and sophisticated gadgets have to be recovered from somewhere. Countries such as India where the population is four times higher than the United States, the Medical needs are obviously higher and the research facilities also have to be expanded. All said and done, Doctors timely decisions have to be focused on the patients and the required treatments where the ultimate costs have to be carefully decided so that all the investments involved are protected somehow somewhere by giving the patients the best service possible. Medical profession is a pure dedication that the Medical authorities have to decide in a timely manner in consultation with the Insurance Companies or the Government authorities so that the required fees are protected and the patient gets the best deserved treatment. Fr. Muller’s Charitable Institute is a classic example where patients regardless of their faith or financial background are given the best possible treatment. Bishop Aloysius was telling me that quite a substantial portion of the patients get the admission in the hospital without any Insurance provision or any other support. This is a magnanimous gesture on the part of the Mangalore Diocese to render such a noble service to the patients. God’s merciful hand joins the hands and minds as well as hearts of all those Medical personnel and the best discretion is put in force to provide the best possible treatment. God bless Fr. Mullers Hospital and all those that are instrumental in providing the best possible treatment to the patients that seek medical treatment as outpatients or as inpatients.

What is Sanskrit ? Did you mean Samskrutam ? Also, why are you calling for printing ‘Bunch of thoughts’ in English when it is already available in English and print version? I know you are still stuck in 7th century – but these days people prefer online version and they can easily find one by searching on google!! And, what Nazi association are you talking about? Did you hear it from your local madrasa ? Have you heard about Netaji Subhashchandra Bhose? He actually had direct contacts with both Nazi forces and Imperial Army in Japan!! Do you have issues with it as well? What an ignoramus are you!! Go and study history to understand the importance of ‘desha-kaala-sthithi’ before embarrassing yourself!!

  • From shaikH mOHd rizwan on Kuwait: ISIS Claims Bomb Blast at Shia Mosque During Ramadan- 13 Killed

Imagine what would be the fate of sanaathana folks Buddhists or Christians in the hands of these savages-Atheist Mr.Original Pai. Dear readers, The world terror strike came as needful relief to BJP and RSS both alike who remained sympathetic to ‘Saffron terror’. The recent disclosure by Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian in the Malegaon bomb blasts case, involving Hindutva terror, raises several disturbing questions. She has effectively blown the lid off a diabolical plan to pervert the cause of justice. As it is, it took an upright and courageous officer like ATS chief Hemant Karkare, martyred during the 26/11 attack on Mumbai, to uncover this conspiracy. It needs to be recalled that Hemant Karkare was roundly attacked and condemned by Mr. Advani, Mr. Modi and others leaders of the Sangh parivaar for this courageous and patriotic act. To“go slow” in the case involving Sadhvi Pragya, Col. Purohit, Swami Asseemanand (whose ashram in Dangs was patronised by, among others, the state’s then Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi) and a host of others. It raises several doubts and questionable about the Modi administration to fight against terrorism. He has left no time praising the iron lady of Bangladesh fight against terrorism but failed miserably eliminating ‘Saffron terror’ on of the biggest threat to the internal security of India. It is also shocking to read that the ongoing investigation itself has been stalled, particularly as names of some RSS bigwigs like Mr. Indresh Kumar had featured in judicial confessions as well as in the investigation reports. Raising grave concern over terror and riot accused coming out bail one by one, it seems is a part of larger conspiracy to free Hindutva terror accused. “This seems to a part of a larger pattern of partisan application of rule of law. In the last few months, almost all the Gujarat police officers accused of cold-blooded murders in the name of “encounters” have been granted bail. Some have even returned to active duty. Convicted criminals like ex-Minister Ms. Maya Kodnani and Mr. Babu Bajrangi are out on parole, instead of serving the long and harsh prison terms awarded to them in lieu of a death sentence. The CBI’s refusal to appeal against the strange exoneration of Mr Amit Shah, the BJP president has also raised serious questions. The Malegaon trial seems to be headed in a similar direction”. At that time, various leaders from BJP and Shiv Sena had called the officers investigating the case including Hemant Karkare as ‘a traitor to the nation’ and later offered one crores check to widow of Karkare seems political stunt. If Modi government is serious about pursing terrorism, then it should reveal the closed door talk with PM in the office with RSS supremo Mohan Baghwat and investigate the leads from control room who put Late Karkare in to booby trap. The government should also learn from Mumbai blast and coimbatore blast reciprocal to the aftermath of communal violence. If government is serious about ‘development’,it should give preference to passing ‘communal violence bill’ and prosecute the accused to death sentence. The country has alarmingly seen steep hike of 600 communal disturbance under his leadership. The Nuclear armed country like Pakistan has experienced jeopardizing economy, safety and security battling expensive war in his own soil.India should learn from its neighbours mistake and stem out terrorism once for all. This terrorism strike is internal delibration of vested interest in the west to control economic swaths of rich country flourished by ‘black gold’. Iraq,Libya,Yemen,Syria, Sudan …are the few victims who paid dearly pushing them to total collapse. Ironically no Islamic terror group is posing challenge to the Israel raising serious doubt about origin of these terror group.Whereas widow and orphan maker Jr.,Sr.,Donald,Clinton are enjoying there luxury of loot of ME continue to seek to their dominance through their dynasty. While Quran reject killing and preach peace sadly group misuse Islam to tarnish through its savage act in glaze of paid mass media. Jai Hind

Pincode Pai, Roy, Joker Praveena, AS Mathew and other followers of Sharia rule – are you listening? – Maha Joker Pai Pyare Rampu, I know that these are very difficult times for you as you are on a month-long fast from sunup to sundown. Maybe you are doing it as penance for Sushmataji’s transgressions or Vasu Raje’s or that maverick called Srimana Lalitha Kumara Modi’ji, I don’t know and frankly speaking, I don’t care to know the reasons. However, you know that fasting can make one weak, get wobbly in the knees and induce hallucinations! That is quite understandable and you have my deepest empathy and fathomless sympathy! Ahem! However, your self-imposed fast will not exonerate you from deep-seated ignorance. You should go ask those blessed fellows called Srimana Bush Senior’ji & Junior’ji as to who the ISIS is, how it came about to be and what they are doing in Iqaq’a, Syria, Libya, Tunisia and ‘Kuwaita’ – shooting and/or bombing themselves and others to smithereens! You see Srimaana Rampu’ji, your beloved Bush appa-maga Supermen had no clue about the Levant (Iraq, Syria). He thought invading Iraq would be as easy as directing a Cowboy movie, say, ‘For a few $$ More’. Come riding hell for leather….shoot the baddies from the hip even before they can take off their 10 gallon hats and once the baddy lies grovelling just about to give up his ghost, smoke a cigar… tap the ashes on his still-hot body, climb on his blessed ‘hoss’ and ride off into the sunset. Mission accomplished and problem solved! Viva La Yumreeka! :):) Heard of boots on the ground? Hahahaha! Come on ya Rampu. Please use your superior persuasive powers to drum up some support for the poor Kurds. Now, that’s a Good Boy and please stop hallucinating. THINK STRAIGHT for a change! Good luck!

Sr. Nirmala must be already in heaven conversing with Blessed Mother Theresa and assuring her that all the noble work that she behind in this world is going thru all the smooth stages and the needy and the deserving are always on the increase in all parts of the world. Blessed Mother Theresa may not like to hear that message but Sr. Nirmala will satisfy her by telling her that the needy and suffering will never decline in this difficult world. Dear Paimaam, you have questioned educated Muslim Sheik why he does not guide the misguided fellow muslims! If the so called educated Muslims are alienated from their common folk for having joined hands with the Muslim Haters, he would fail to mould their attitude. If we find fault with Mr. Sheik for having ended all his posts with ‘Jai Hind’ and we scold him, as if Hind is the private property of the RSS, how could you expect any cordiality from him? How could he enthuse the common Muslim to be patriotic Indians? In the initial stages I used to question his posts, when I felt that he was questioning our religious belief. But, later, when I found that he was defending his faith, at times attacking the faith of those who attacked his religion, I found that to retaliate is his right. Paimaam, accept him as a patriot and let him mould the opinion of his brethrine to make them all the best hunan assets of India! Why the RSS stooge and BJP Secretary appointed by Modi, Mr. Ram Madhav, finds fault with our Vice President Ansari for not participating in the Yoga Roadshow on RSS Founder Dr. Hedgewar’s death anniversary? Is it a fault for Ansari to be born a Musalman? Do any one chose to be born in any womb and is it not a fact that birth is a “fait accompli” and that too known only ex-post facto? If you attack him to impress and please the Hindus, it is the greatest disservice by you to Hinduism and India! Thank you.

You did not answer these fundamental points raised by me”! Sir, you have named the logic put forth by me as “suicidal logic”. Yes, indeed suicidal, for the logic I presented was propounded by Mahatma Gandhi. You rightly called it suicidal. I say rightly, because, because of that logic Mahatma Gandhi was ruthlessly murdered by Hindutva forces like your RSS and Hindu Maha Sabha! Mr. Original Duplicate, your so called “cartoon Post” was edited by the EYT and was incomplete. So, I could not respond. When are you going to grow up, take some responsibility and work towards providing better guidance to your youth ? Don’t you see a problem when 14% of the population is behind 100% of the smuggling cases reported ? Why is it that your community, from Texas to London to Kasaragodu, doesn’t admit any faults and continues to play victim card blaming everyone else?

After successful Yoga day, perhaps Modi’s government will also take ‘Kamasutra’ to UN to observe “KS day” coincide with Valentine day or Golwalkar birthday. One has to pay no attention to the politicians accusing their counterparts on a policy issue. They are all the same behind the curtains. It’s just the show they put on in front of the public to remain popular. In another news article you may have seen the BJP party members were seen accusing the ruling Congress party for the transfer of MCC commissioner. What many people fail to see is that the building mafia behind the curtains is running the show. Politicians are only the puppets who themselves have large interest in the real estate business through various not-so-visible arms. Common man is the sucker. Timely message and also a wonderful message for the world to read and digest. Thank you, Archbishop Moras for your timely appeal for the public to appreciate the facts and consequences attached to these kind of ruthless acts. The entire society has to wake up and educate one another the consequences attached to unimaginable acts such as these. Nuns all over India from different denominations do so much for the humanity with so little awards. Nuns have great deal to sacrifice for so many good causes all over India. Your appeal to the community at large is appropriate and timely. We all have a consciencious duty to share our views and create a new awakening to the society the possible dangers that can bring chain of sad events if we do not make timely warnings available to the public. The Government also has a duty to take severe action to these kind of sad atrocities so that people are aware of the punishments that await if they do not behave as human beings. We live in a difficult world with so many sad events that take place in our daily life. The sad tragedy that took place at Charleston, South Carolina this week where nine devout Christians were slaughtered by a twenty one year old kid while they were conducting their Bible classes in the late evening hours in their historic Emanuel Church. Prayers are perhaps the best healer in sad situations such as these, and the people of America regardless of their color or culture have united together to condemn the tragic atrocity. Kind regards to you, Archbishop Moras for your timely interventions. Take care, and may God be with you in all your daily dedications to life.

Original RSS and Duplicate Paimaam of USA and RSS Ram Madhav, secretary of BJP, both sail in the same boat! Ram Madhav knows that Vice President Ansari was not requested to participate in the Modi’s Yoga Road Shaw. Yet, he wants to cast aspersions on our vice president because he happens to be a Muslim. He thinks to be born a Muslim in India is a sin, and therefore they are traitors. Ram Madhav said Ansari did not participate in Yoga Road Shaw in spite of a request to participate and he did so to point out that he is a Muslim and Muslims are against Yoga. A press release from vice president’s office said that he was not requested to participate. Ram Madhav changed his stance and said that the vice president was ill and he did not participate due to illness and he shed crocodile tears for the “mistaken” accusation. The vice presidents office clarified that he was not ill at all! This is how RSS makes yoga the exclusive domain of Hindus and impresses Hindus that even our vice president is a religious begot! Do these RSS begot think that just because Modi wants Yoga to be celebrated to commemorate the death anniversary of RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, and hoodwinks the UN to chose that day unknowingly, have we no fundamental right not to participate in the road show?

  • From Col CP Muthanna on What is Kodagu’s Future in the Years Ahead? - Asks Air Marshal K C Cariappa

Kodagu is the Principal Catchment of River Cauvery and provides almost fifty percent of the total inflow to Cauvery. River Cauvery is the lifeline to more than Eight Crore people and Six Hundred Major industries across South India. Kodagu is perhaps the most important district in the entire Country! It is therefore in the NATIONAL INTEREST to protect the Kodagu Landscape. Against this background it is with growing dismay that we see Kodagu being ravaged by the day due to brisk land conversions, unregulated urbanisation, invasive tourism, ‘development projects’ causing massive tree felling and large scale sand mining that is destroying our rivers and streams. So what is the way forward? The answer lies in the entire district being declared as an Eco Sensitive Zone under the provisions of the Environment Protection Act. Mount Abu, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Matheran etc have been declared as ESZs as they are important catchment areas. Kodagu definitely qualifies for this tag. If the policy makers are not prepared to take a call due to vested interests, then the matter must go to Court. The declaration of Kodagu as an ESZ should not however burden the people of Kodagu. Hence the provisions of the ESZ for Kodagu should be so articulated that there are no draconian measures that disturb the existing plantation and agriculture practices. The concept of Payment of Ecological Services [PES] must be implemented for Kodagu. The College of Forestry, Ponnampet has prepared a document on the scope of PES for Kodagu and these recommendations can be the basis for taking the idea forward. This will ensure that the people of Kodagu are able to live in an environment of Social, Financial, and Cultural Security, and it will hep to create a Win-Win situation.

Thanks very much for sharing your personal viewpoints on all the “nine yards” of anxieties, frustrations, inconveniences as well as the experiences that one goes thru while coming back to India and going thru all the Immigration and Customs formalities. All said and done, you have not mentioned about the magnificent International Airport complex in Mumbai that you witnessed upon your arrival. Perhaps your article was written before the new Airport in Mumbai was established. All said and done, you have all the valid points to share the real experiences of “life” while returning to India which is not a “Karma Bhoomy” but it is truly a “Maathra Bhoomy”. We have been frequently travelling back to India for the past 58 years, and our experiences have been pleasantly favorable indeed. We go thru all the situations that you have gone thru, Mr. Uttam, but coming back home is always a joy that money cannot substitute. For the past 58 years ever since we left India for the first time, India has produced nearly a billion additional people. A billion people more in India is more than three times the size of American population today !! A billion additional people to feed, cloth, shelter and protect is in itself a burden that we cannot comprehend even today after forty plus years of Education. Coming back to India and seeing the gigantic progress all over in spite of all the odds and abnormal situations is fully anticipated. People are people – wherever you go and whatever you do, but to come back home and witness the remarkable progress all over is always an opportunity that we would like to embrace despite all other inconveniences. God is indeed kind and merciful in our “Maathra Bhoomy”, and the kindness and mercy pours out of all the people from India – whether it is the Immigration or Customs, whether it is the airport baggage handlers or the taxis, whether it is the hotel receptionists or tourist guides. There is a warm and friendly attitude from most of our hitherto existences, and we have always remained grateful to our “Maathra Bhoomy” that has displayed more courtesies and more hospitalities than many other dozens of countries that we have visited for the past fifty eight years. “Dhanyawadh” and God bless.

Sushma makes clandestine deals to help fugitive Modi to escape to Portugal having no extradition treaty with India for protecting the criminal Modi by sending him to the safe heaven. Sushma is busy helping Reddy brothers escape punishment and retain ten thousand crore black money. For, till he was put in jail she was collecting her portion of the black money and supplying a portion of that to the RSS and BJP! Rajasthan’s BJP Chief Minister, her son, her daughter-in-law, and many other RSS people are business partners of Modi’s corrupt empire. Yet, they are good and therefore should not be accused of corruption. The very foundation of RSS Empire is black money as is evident from the Hinduja Brothers. RSS has admitted that the Hindujas are their sponsors and the Hindujas in tern have admitted in the Court that they were the sole beneficiaries of secret Bofors payments and our Court held that Bofors kickbacks were paid without violating any Indian law or agreement, solely to Hindujas. Poor Rajiv Gandhi was hanged for he could not withstand the blitzkrieg of the fascist RSS Gobbels of India! First, for being Rajiv’s family friend Amitaab Bachchan was accused of supplying money to Rajiv. When he could escape from court order, another family friend too was accused of the same and he was Quattrocchi! To be family friend is a crime if Congress is concerned, but not even the husband, the daughter, the son or the daughter-in-law is not! For, RSS is above law and morality! All I said above is decided by the Indian Courts when Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, and Vajpayee did not take in appeal even a single decision given by the Court, thereby admitting that the RSS and the BJP made false allegations and got political power at the cost of getting innocent Rajiv Gandhi killed! If the Original duplicate denies my statement and alleges this as twist, I can produce all the court decisions, provided this forum permits me to do so, for they are very very voluminous.

It is just a few days since Rev. Father Michael Santhumayor took charge of Milagres College as the Principal. It is evident that he has taken to his responsibilities very seriously. ‘WOMEN’S CELL’ is an URGENT – LONG FELT need and Father Michael has lost no time in highlighting this need. Indeed he has been very practical in his advice to the students that utmost caution should be exercised by them while dealing with certain situations. These days one reads about so many instances of young girls being mislead by young men with false promises. In the context of the increasing number of young ladies falling a prey to false promises by young men – Father Michael has advanced the RIGHT ADVICE to students who can make good use of the same while dealing with certain specific situations of a section of the society. Kudos to you Father Michael and may this seminar be a forerunner of many to follow.

We all hoped that with a dedicated and transparent commissioner like Hephshiba, MCC would have functioned in the right track, without lobbying and corruption-now that greed mongers kicked her out of the office, imagine the fate of MCC would be in the future days. Wishing Hephshiba all success in her job assigned to her in Vijayapura- she will be a big asset to the dept there, unless he staff don’t co-operate with her. I think corruption is a major hazard in our society. We would have to try our best to decrease this corruption- because in every govt. or pvt dept, corruption does exist no matter what. I think nepotism is a big corruption in India , as well as Kudla. So we need to stop corruption for our future.

It is unfathomable how the authorities concerned could be this callous and short-sighted. Kodagu is an attractive tourist destination purely because of its unpolluted environment. All the unregulated, unnecessary and avoidable development in the name of progress is harming this very attraction. The action should be very swift and effective so that these goons will never attempt this kind of behavior with any passengers again. Please dear friends, do not ever use the Airport taxis and this is how we can teach these goons a lesson for their life. It is always nice to read the highlights of Saudi Arabia, specially as far as the philanthropic advancement thru the world of Toastmasters. So many new leaders are born in Saudi Arabia as a result of being able to operate the Toastmasters movement in the interest of enhancing the leadership styles that we all deserve so badly in the fast changing world. Toastmasters movement also encourages leadership without any kind of religious or political bias. Toastmasters allows us to respect each and every religion thru which we share our values with each other and make this world a better place to live. Saudi Arabia is therefore a place of opportunity to share so many of our God given talents and abilities and enjoy life by being able to respect one another. So much progress has been witnessed in the Kingdom as a result of exercising our leadership skills. Toastmasters therefore have a great role to play in the future, and let us therefore make the very best from what we have been blessed yesterday and today, and tomorrow will therefore be a better day from all that we have learned and enjoyed as leaders.

However, we should have zero tolerance towards those who break the laws, drive under influence and put others life in danger. We are glad that Vishwas Trust is fully aware of the abuse of the elderly. We are pleased to note that Dr. Olinda Pereira is looking into the matter with the help of many others in the community. It is pathetic to hear so many sad stories of family abuse. So long as the society is aware of the abuse, many volunteers may have to shoulder the responsibility to intervene and see what are some of the protective measures available within the Community. Each matter relating to the family affairs is delicate and therefore intervention is also not so easily possible. But somebody has to come forward and act as a whistle blower so that the volunteer group may step in and see what best can be done. We all are at the mercy of God so that no one goes thru the agony of ill-treatment or abuse within the family. Thank you for sharing the delicate situations that take place in many families that we would not know so easily other than articles such as these.

Gatherings such as these are very useful and valuable to the community that we live so that a larger group of the community and society gets involved with the realities of life that prevail in today’s world due to affluence and quick fortunes in life. Our Indian Society, whether we are Hindus or Moslems or Christians is an unique society that values family unity. Our family values of the Orient are unique and rare that unites people of all ages and share all that we have, The only misfortune that has taken place in India over the years is the appreciation of property values where owners have realized the tremendous growth they have amassed as a result of owning and/or possessing a property. People develop new ideas of becoming rich too soon without any effort at the cost of neglecting family values and family history. This is where our Society needs EDUCATION. This is where the parents have to be very careful while dividing their properties or their wealth with their siblings. Greed and jealousy comes in the picture and people get corrupted with the thoughts of amassing everything that the family has. The more families gather together and voice their concern is to our advantage. Let not the property take our mind and heart, but let there be a spirit of compromising thought enter the mind of each individual in order to sit together and share their ideas for an united consensus so that family unity gets equal attention and justice. • From Mangal on With Transfer of a Strict Commissioner, Will MCC Once Again Become 'M-angaluru C-orrupt C-entre'?

An elected body of representatives in a corporation serves a purpose not much different to that of a board in an organisation. The board in an organisation represents the shareholders, and oversees the major actions of the management. Board’s authority comes from the shareholders. Board’s actions should ultimately benefit the shareholders. Where a board exists, the shareholders cannot directly take the management to task. In a similar manner, the elected representatives in a corporation are expected to serve the interests of the electorate. Electorate has no power to take bureucrats to task. Bureaucrats report to the elected representatives. Imagine what would happen if the board members in an organisation acted a ‘party’! They could do things contrary to the interests of the shareholders. Same way, the elected representatives would be helpful to the electorate if such representatives always discussed the issues with the electorate, and not with other elected reps. Just like a board, every decision of the corporators is put to vote. If there is a majority of votes, the decision then carries and becomes binding on all. On the other hand, in a party system, the electorate is completely ignored. And the corporators have every opportunity to become a bunch of rogues.

His feast is celebrated on a grand scale in Mangalore From the time I have known Saint Antony’s devotions – I recall that the services in his honor take place on Tuesdays at 6.00 p.m. at Milagris Church. Originally there used to be only one Novena Service in the evenings at 6.00 p.m which is now extended to also a morning service which takes place at 8.15 a.m. These are efficiently managed by a very good team of priests under the leadership of Father Onil D’Souza ably supported by Father Francis D’Souza and Father Peter Gonsalves. • From Henry James on With Transfer of a Strict Commissioner, Will MCC Once Again Become 'M-angaluru C-orrupt C-entre'?

~Mangal If all candidates are independent how will the consensus be formed on any policy objective? There won’t be a common ground so the system will be stuck in a gridlock. If no 2 people agree on one matter how is the corporation/government going to work? Everyone will blame the other and the common man will be the loser – for this reason even coalition government is not a good idea. Whether we like it or not, there has to be a majority government if at all we want the country to progress. In that sense parties do play a role, as killjoy parties will be held accountable at the following elections if they start playing tantrums – just see how people taught BJP a lesson in the last state elections. There is no other better form of governance which can remotely have a semblance of fairness when there are only finite resources. In the short term though there can be such problems which we have to learn to live with.

  • From Prasad Kumar on With Transfer of a Strict Commissioner, Will MCC Once Again Become 'M-angaluru C-orrupt C-entre'?

Its a shame that the corporators whom we elected should act in such a way in trying to get rid of a very efficient, dedicated, strict and transparent commissioner, that MCC had seen in a long time. Shame on these greedy councillors. Citizens of Mangaluru will surely miss this commissioner who was trying to bring a change in the MCC and also for the growth of the city. Wish Hephsiba Rani Korlapati all success in her new post in Vijayapura- I only wish the people there respect her and keep her till her term is over. May God bless this young ex-commissioner of ours.

  • From Ankitha on With Transfer of a Strict Commissioner, Will MCC Once Again Become 'M-angaluru C-orrupt C-entre'?

We have seen how corporators of mangalore city corporation manipulate fund for helping their community /vote bank . Take the glaring example of Sanyasigudda in Court ward. A sum of over 1 crore has been spent to concretise a private road haphazardly with out proper planning for underground drainage/ water line connection and another 25 Lakhs is being spent for drainage works despite an high court order clearly stating that the land is a private land and the MCC is permitted to maintain the road without affecting the rights of the owners. Clearly the corporator has some of his community members residing there as well as a powerful ex-MUDA chairman . Further the work was awarded to another party worker itself for majority of the works… Is it necessary to spend so much on private roads when the Main Arya Samj road is itself paved with interlocks and does not have a proper drainage system???

  • From Richard D'souza on Hyderabad student shot dead by unidentified men in US

Legal Drugs and Poverty lead to robberies and killings in the USA generally, and shootouts and killings occur almost every day in some town or suburb in the USA. Guns are a fundamental right to own to defend themselves, that sadly is the number one killing machine in the USA, be it in the hands of a student in a school shoot out or in the hands of a buzzed citizen, and a lot of controversy exists on this subject. One must be extra careful not to loiter on the streets in USA, as the streets are often walked only by the poor who do not own a car or a tourist or new students in the USA.

In my belief, while democracy has many flaws, the party-based representation is the beginning of all evil. The party candidates have the numbers to play all sorts of games to make the life of citizens a hell. A governing body – particularly at the corporation level – can function effectively if the corporators are all independent, and have no party affiliation. I do believe the Mangalurians must elect independent candidates in greater numbers, and dump all the party candidates.

  • From Original R.Pai on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

What we are witnessing here reinforced by posts of Manga(L), Roy and Sharia Shaikh is the fundamental difference between tolerant and intolerant ideologies. There is a direct link between yoga controversy and a doctrine of ‘true god-vs-false god’. This is the doctrine of intolerance and opposition to any outside influence and culture. Yoga, in the eyes of these guys, is a symbol of something that they don’t believe in. Yoga represents false gods to these intolerant minds. There is absolutely no reason other than religious dogma to reject yoga especially when it is taught in a non-religious fashion. I would be the first one to oppose any attempt to mix hinduism with yoga! You don’t see a buddhist, Jain or sikh opposing yoga. The opposition is coming from the same groups who have played this trick many times for different reasons over centuries. The doctrine based hatred and intolerance are being re-packaged as ‘individual choices’ in order to conceal the true ugly mindset. This is not different from opposition to teaching evolution in classrooms! Where are the true secular and progressives? Oh never mind – they are afraid to speak out as it happened during cartoon controversy!! smiles…

Original RSS should know that our law defines in an inclusive classification that “the term hindu includes a Buddhist, a Sikh or a jain”. Sharia Shaikh, Why do you and your folks always demand ‘special treatment’ and special rights when you are not the majority? Let’s get this right – your opposition to yoga is entirely based on your religious beliefs. So, you don’t like yoga, you don’t want to sing Vande mataram. You don’t respect local tradition or culture. You won’t even acknowledge that Paakistaana is our enemy nation simply because of your religious affiliation. So, do you even respect India? Who are you loyal to? Don’t be under the impression that your ‘taqiyya’ tricks are going to work here!!

    • From B. N. Pai. on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

Original RSS asks, “Why do you and your folk always demand “special treatment” and “special rights”, when you are not the majority?” This is what was written in Golwalkar’s Book, “A bunch of thoughts”. He said the non-Hindus must accept Hinduism or quit. Original too repeats the same. RSS does not know a thing about democracy and it is dictatorial to the hilt. He asks, how in a democracy the minorities could demand anything! He does not know that the underlying principle of democracy is concord and co-existence of the different. If democracy is uniformity and homogeneity, why any elections and why any government? In such an eventuality, there is absolutely no scope or any rationale for democracy. RSS lacks common sense and it does not appreciate basic humanity, with its plurality. They are an autocratic lot, just following the “leader” meekly and humbly! They are under the illusion that they are the enlightened. Fact remains that they are the most dangerous “robotic humanoid”!

  • From Mangal on Mangaluru: Efforts by Some Councillors to Transfer MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Pay off

Democracy has many flaws. One of them is that, the elected persons are supposed to be in control. And the bureaucrats are supposed to be reporting to the elected persons. Apart from many other issues cropping out of this arrangement, one sad issue is that the elected reps are more focused on their politicking and planning to win the next round than worrying about the welfare of the people who elected them. The politicking and planning to win the next round requires bucket-loads of money, which can come from the contractors. So, the elected reps need to build special relationship with the various contractors and suppliers of services. To add to this drama, we have many bureaucrats too, who run business empires as they know the ins and outs of financial deals, from the big guys to the average aam aadmi. So, there is very little scope for survival of the honest elected rep and the honest bureaucrat. It is a miracle that such individuals actually exist in a democratic setup. I do believe that Ms Korlapati is an honest bureaucrat. Hopefully experience in her job does not take her in a different ethical direction.

  • From sHaiKh mohD rizwan on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

Dear readers, Non-Hindu may opt for their own mode of exercise or religious prayers.-Mr.Hari Prasad India is going to have Yoga Day on 21st June. Not only it is being organised by the Government itself but is being organised on a day when “Surya Devata” (Sun god) will be visible for the maximum time in the year. And of course the initiative came from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has been travelling around the world as Hindu Prime Minister of India, distributing Gita and visiting temples. It is always good if a person is practically religious, and those who campaign against the very name of religion are no friends of morality in life. Secularism in Indian context is not the denial of religion but respect to all religions. But a secular state like India needs to either equally respect all the religions or must avoid making show of its special respect for any particular religion. But Modi Government has chosen to do exactly the same. It does not stop reminding the people that despite its avowed proclamation of all communities being equal, in its eyes Hindus (and their practices) are more equal than others. There is no denying that Yoga may be a good form of exercise like most of the rituals of most of the religions are. But Yoga is not simply a physical exercise; it is also a spiritual one and spiritual exercises involve some kind of devotion to some “supreme” entity. It would have been great if the initiative had been taken by the Hindu religious organisations rather than the government and Hindus had participated in big numbers. Hindus doing yoga can certainly be expected on average to be more morally and physically healthy than Hindus not doing it. But the truth is that Islamic practices like Namaz, Fasting, and Circumcision, Qur’anic injunctions of breastfeeding for 2 years, Islamic bans on gambling, alcohol, promiscuity, homosexuality and abortions, all have huge beneficial effect on health, with almost each one of them substantially increasing not only the life expectancy but also the standard of health. Can we then have a Namaz Day for country, an anti-Drinking, anti-gambling, anti-obscenity, anti-gay, anti-abortion and a circumcision day for the whole country? What will be the reaction of BJP if such days are celebrated in a Muslim majority state of the country like Kashmir? They can certainly agree to some of them which are not directly recognised with the name of Islam. The 5 compulsory salat(Namaz) ; “It can be seen that 48 units in 5 prayers a day will involve 96 Sajdahs, 48 rukus, 48 qayam (standing) and 74 sitting positions and 34 salams (turning neck right and left). It also involves 18 movements on the elbow joint (Takbeer), this number being much greater in Shafai and Shia schools, 248 movements (flexion and extension) of hip joints and at least 96 movements of the knees. These are approximate numbers. With these kinds of figure, the net impact on the physical, mental and spiritual health of the individuals has to be tremendous. But it must be clarified that the basic aim of the prayers is not body building; Prayers are meant for proximity with God, but God has been kind enough to design a scheme of prayers that also cause huge physical and mental benefits.” Muslims have absolutely no objection to Yoga Day. Their only argument is that they should not be persuaded to join it, and they would have appreciated more if instead of the Government, the Hindu organisations had organised it. We wish all our Hindu brothers a Happy Yoga Day and will be more than happy if we find them engaged in Yoga exercises as a routine rather than simply being a part of a one day show. At the same time we Muslims of India request RSS to organise more ‘Yoga’ in Shakas instead of ‘Lati,Trishul and bombs’ training ,so the calm minds can devote their attention more towards nation building which was absent during British Raj. Jai hind

  • From sHaiKh mohD rizwan on Udupi: MLA Pramod Madhwaraj's Rolls-Royce Ghost worth Rs 5.8 crore arrives

Dear readers, Reddy, who once owed debtors several crores of rupees in the late 1990s, a decade later admitted that he and his wife alone have assets worth over Rs 150 crore, thanks to his illegal mining business.A number of luxury cars line the Reddy homes, ranging from Bentleys and Mercs to the latest SUVs and Range Rovers. Reddy brothers even would heli-hop between Bellary and Bangalore even for lunch or dinner. He presented a golden sword worth Rs 40 lakh to national BJP president Nitin Gadkari. The mining baron told the court that the chopper – a Bell 407 – was bought at a cost of nearly Rs 12 crore on a bank loan, after depositing a down payment of Rs 2 crore. He added that he had been paying an equated monthly installment (EMI) of Rs 10.31 lakh since 2006, and a monthly rent of Rs 75,000 to the airport authorities in Bangalore for the hangar facility alone. Reddy’s enviable collection of luxury cars boasts of a Rolls Royce Phantom worth nearly Rs 5 crore (with a Bellary town registration number KA-34-C-01), apart from Maserati, Volkswagen, BMW, Continental GT Coupea, Range Rover sports car, Mercedes-Benz limousine, Toyota Land Cruiser, an Audi and Mitsubishi Pajeros, as well as a dozen Indian cars. He also owns an imported Volvo bus, again named Rukmini, worth Rs 5 crore, especially designed for his political road shows. Jailed Gali Janardhan Reddy’s fears over his seized chopper and collection of luxury cars http://www.dailymail.co.uk/indiahome/indianews/article-2099478/Jailed-Gali-Janardhan-Reddys-fears-seized-chopper-collection-luxury-cars.html They had given gold worth crores to the Tirupati temple, thinking God would save them from the illegal mining accusations. In other hand BJP which spent close to Rs 5 billion in last election for 2014 general election his main sponsoers include Ambani and Adani whose income steadily increasing since Modi became PM enjoying more luxury. Having always had a penchant for European cars, Mukesh Ambani owns 168. He favours the Mercedes, the Bentley and the Maybach, his most expensive car to date. But this 27-storey home has a lot more than heart. It consists of a ballroom, three helipads and a swimming pool. Considered to be the world’s most expensive home, it cost Mukesh Ambani $1 billion. Too bad ‘bad vaastu’ is preventing him and his family from moving in. home bus ambani – YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1DF9SoKa8Q His Dutch made vanity van cost approximately 25 crores fully fire proof , bullet proof and bomb proof. Now it has proven that politics is big business in India rather than serving nation regardless of parties which represent common people. Jai hind

  • From Hari Prasad on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

In Sanskrit Yoga means “to unite” ie to unite with the invisible God. Only God can teach us how to unite with him. Those who believe in God know that both God and Satan can influence our thoughts. Therefore all meditations should precede with a prayer to God so that the onus is put on God. Yoga comes from Upanishads. Surfing through the net will give voluminous information. It is in Upanishad the Yoga prayer is given to unite us with the invisible creator. It is called the Hindu prayer “Lead me from untruth to truth ,darkness to light and death to immortality ” This prayer must be made compulsory for all the Hindu students in schools .United Nations must make this Yoga prayer compulsory for all the practitioners of Yoga all over the world. It is time we reduced our dependence on the middlemen. As for the yoga exercises, the Yoga teachers must take all responsibilities for any injuries. All the salaries of yoga teacher must be borne by the government. Furthermore Yoga exercises should not be made compulsory for the Hindus till all claims regarding the benefits to the internal organs such as liver, kidney, pancreas etc are verified scientifically by AIIMS. Non-Hindus may opt for their own mode of exercise or religious prayers

Dear readers, While only smiling DV Sadananda Gowda belongs to the same village of Mandekolu village, his contribution to the village nor the state big zero.At least this brave soldier has made his village proud.BJP has already realised it early and sacked him from the union cabinet. PM Modi should consider 7 sister states of North East which has immense tourism potential. The government should review the deal with ULFA terror organisation signed by former PM vajpayee retaining weapons in exchange for autonomous .The 56 inch saheb whose government slashed the mountain strike corps cut to half has been attributed to “severe fund shortage” should wisely utilize the armed forces in the western region; instead of giving Z plus to Video Sangeet som,Ramdev and Bhagwa who enjoy millions of foot soldiers from RSS expertise in Lati,Trishul and bombs. There should be a law (if there isn’t one already) to protect the identity of such soldiers involved in sensitive operations as some of our own nutcase enemy-sympathisers may target them one day.

Indeed a tragic death for this man, who never knew that death was coming. Hitting someone and fleeing away is not a good sign-the biker should turn himself in to the police before he takes the curse on him from the bereaved family and their relatives and friends. May John Monteiro’s soul rest in peace

  • From Mangal on Mangaluru: Police Constable Praveen Remanded to Judicial Custody in 17-year-old Student's Suicide Case

Some girls (possibly most) can’t deal with rejections in their love life. Also, if some of them go to take an extreme step upon being rejected, I don’t think it is entirely the fault of the man. Many men go through rejections as well. That is life. Just like being rejected with an employment application. One hardly ever hears of a girl being arrested because she rejected a guy.

Atrocious on the part of the motor cycle driver to run over Sri Monteiro and then make an attempt to escape. However it will not be long before the Police nab the culprit and book him. I join several others in offering condolences to all the members of the bereaved family specially Mrs. Monteiro. It is expedient that suitable compensation is paid to the family.

  • From Mangal on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

The Catholic legislators have a point. I don’t think they oppose Yoga in any way. Yoga, as a physical exercise routine and also with its association with mediation, will do immense good to the practitioners. I don’t think the Catholic legislators in Goa oppose this at all. What they are opposing is the globetrotter Government’s insistence that the school kids and the teachers are dragged out of their homes on a Sunday, merely because it pleases certain organisations that support the globetrotter on religious grounds and.or ill-placed emotional attachment to Yoga. It is important to see Yoga as a form of physical exercise routine. And not yet another way to impose a particular religion on others. But it is even more important to allow students and teachers to exercise their choice whether they want to practise Yoga, or martial arts or anything for that matter. India was built on the basis of personal freedom. But the globetrotter and his associate organisations are hellbent on giving a twist to personal freedom. I do not support that.

Singer needs to understand the sweetness of the slapping, slap him in an open ground. Then send him to a mental hospital for anger control therapy. I have seen some arrogant movie stars pushing the fans who were trying to touch or shake hand with them, but the slapping event is quite new.

  • From Original R.Pai on Panaji: Goa's Catholic legislators to raise Yoga Day issue with CM

These legislators are an embarrassment to our nation. We should see yoga as part of physical education. I would be the first one to oppose any attempt to use yoga to promote any religion. Teaching yoga postures to kids is a great way to make them healthier and prepare them for life. What this incident demonstrate is a perpetual self-hating culture cultivated in our country over generations based on pure dogma and insecure religious feelings!! I truly wish we were more secular in real sense!!
