Youth Accepts Challenge, Jumps into Swarna River and drowns 

Udupi: A Youth committed suicide by jumping into the Swarna river from the Railway Bridge Preampalli on Monday evening and his body was found on Tuesday, October 31.
The deceased has been identified as Sadiq a resident of Kaup and native of Hubballi.
Sadiq along with his six friends had gone for an outing. All six friends had fun at the Perampalli Railway Bridge near Swarna River.
The friends then put on a challenge to jump into the river. Sadiq accepted the challenge and jumped into the river. Since the youth did not know to swim, he drowned. His friend Sian jumped to rescue him but he did not succeed. Sian was also rescued by the locals.
On October 31 evening, Sadiq’s body was found. A case has been registered in the Manipal Police Station.
