Youth arrested over charges of raping minor girl
Bhatkal: The town police have arrested a youth in connection with the rape of a minor girl at Bhatkal here on March 5.
The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Altaf Armar, a resident of Gulmi Bhatkal.
According to the police, the victim’s mother has filed a complaint against Mohammed Altaf for physically assaulting her daughter. In the complaint, she has mentioned that Mohammed Altaf made friendship with her daughter and took her to a remote area where he had physically assaulted her. Later Altaf took the girl to a lodge in Murdeshwar by car and raped her.
Based on the complaint the Bhatkal town police have registered a case against Mohammed Altaf. He was arrested by the Town Police sub-inspector H B Kudakunti. He was produced before the court in Karwar.
