Youth Arrested for Spreading Wrong Information about COVID treatment in Udupi

Kundapur: The Shankaranarayana Police have arrested a 27-year-old youth on June 7, for spreading wrong information on the Social media against the district administration on the COVID-19 treatment in Udupi.

The arrested has been identified as Suresh Kulal (27), a resident of Kamalashile, Kundapur. He had recently returned from Bengaluru.

According to the police, Suresh Kulal was spreading wrong information on the social media that the Udupi district administration is charging Rs 3.5 lakhs for COVID-19 treatment. His post had gone viral on social media. The Vandse village accountant Raghavendra filed a complaint in the Shankernaryana Police station against Suresh Kulal.

Based on the complaint, the police arrested Suresh Kulal and produced him before the Court. The Court has ordered conditional bail to Suresh.
