Youth Assaults Postman at Matadakani and Damages his Vehicle
Mangaluru: In a tragic incident a postman was assaulted by youth at Matadakani on June 16.
The injured postman has been identified as Dinesh (49) from Kotekar, and the youth has been identified as Manish.
According to sources, the postman Dinesh from Ashok Nagar post office was on duty delivering posts. When Dinesh was delivering a registered post to Manish, Manish used foul language and assaulted Dinesh with an iron rod.
Postman Dinesh in a bid to escape from being assaulted left his bike and ran for his life. Meanwhile, Manish damaged the postman’s bike and destroyed some of the letters kept in the motorbike.
The police reached the spot after the locals informed them. But Manish threatened the police. The damage is estimated to be around Rs 35,000.
In this connection, a case has been filed in the Barke police station, and the investigation is on.
