Youth Catch and Handover 3 Highway robbers to Police, All 6 arrested
Puttur: Some youth caught and handed over three highway robbers to the police here on August 6, night.
According to sources, on August 6, a bike rider Kareem, while on his way home, at Bedrodi a group of six men waylaid his bike assaulted him and were trying to rob him of his belongings. Some youth who nearby saw the gang attacking Kareem and rushed to his help. The youth then rescued Kareem and succeeded in catching hold of three of them while three others fled from the spot.
The youth then handed over the three of them to the Uppinangady police. The police are investigating the case and search is on for the other three.
Later the other three who were on the run were also arrested by the police. The arrested have been identified as Gautham, Dinesh, Nagesh, Sanjay, Pradeep and Shivaram. During the investigation, it was revealed that the gang is also involved in various other crimes and cases have been registered against them in various police stations. The vehicle and the weapons which the gang was using for the crime has also been seized.
