Youth Congress Members Booked for Damaging Property of IT Office at Attavar

Mangaluru: The Pandeshwar police have booked cases against 9 members of the Youth Congress on August 3, for damaging the property of the Income Tax office in Attavar on August 2.

On August 2, Power minister D K Shivakumar’s house and businesses were raided by the income tax officials. Angered by the attitude of the NDA government to target and harass the Congress leaders by raiding their houses the District Youth Congress staged a protest in front of the Income Tax office.

During the protest, the protesters burnt tyres, broke window panes and damaged the property of the IT office.

In this connection, a case has been filed against 9 members of the Youth Congress in Pandeshwar police station. They are A C Vinayraj, Ramanand, Merill Rego, Shoib, Girish Alva and others under section 353, 147, 143, 427, 447 and KPDLP Act.
