Udupi: When the country is facing the COVID -19 Pandemic and extended nationwide lockdown to maintain social distancing, a youth who was walking on the Vadiraja street near Sri Krishna Math started to throw currency notes of Rs 2000, 500 and 200 on April 13.

According to the locals, on April 13 morning a youth walking on the Vadiraj street started to throw currency notes. People seeing the notes on the road began picking them. But some locals got suspicious of the youth and approached to question him but he succeeded in fleeing from the spot.

The locals immediately informed the police. Those who picked the notes were disappointed when they learnt that the notes were fake. All the notes were picked from the street and handed over to the police.

The police are searching for the youth and checking the CCTV footage in the area to trace him. The locals fear that the youth may have been spreading COVID-19 through the notes.
