Mangaluru: Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust (YPFT) will hold ‘Yakshadhruva Patla Sambhrama – 2016’ for which an invitation release programme was held at hotel Janatha Delux, Pathumudi here, on May 3.
The invitation was released by senior Yakshagana artiste, Balipa Narayana Bhagavath along with other dignitaries. Narayana is the Guru of Patla Satish Shetty after whom the trust is named. The Yakshadhruva Patla Sambhrama – 2016 will be held at the Town Hall between 9 am to 9 pm on May 22.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof M B Puranik said, “It is not easy to win the affection of the public and Patla Satish has managed to win it due to his humble nature. It is also not easy to organise such a programme and I know that there are many who have contributed to make it a success. I pray to the almighty for the success of this programme.”
Patla Satish Shetty thanked all the sponsors of the event and also handed a cheque of Rs 25000 towards medical expenses of Prakash, a fellow Yakshagana artiste from Bappanadu troupe who has been undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Narayana recalled the old times and asked his student, Patla Satish to keep Yakshagana alive. Dr Padmanab Kamath said, “This trust has made a significant development in just six months of its existence. I appreciate Satishs’ concern towards fellow Yakshagana artistes.”
Laxmish Bhandary, Sitaram Pai, Deviprasad and others were also present.
