Yuva Bikarnakatte Holds Musical Nite, Distributes Financial Help to Needy

Mangaluru: The Yuva Bikarnakatte organized a musical evening and distribution of financial help to the less fortunate at Bikarnakatte here on January 16.

The programme began with an invocation. Member of Yuva Bikarnakatte Nagaraj welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by BJP leader Rajgopal Rai by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the gathering Rajgopal Rai said, “To mark the temple festival, the Yuva Bikarnakatte have organized a musical nite. Nowadays youth are addicted to modern gadgets. They are always busy with mobiles or watching TV. Parents also do not find time to teach their children moral values. Parents are busy with their work and whatever their children demand, they provide it without a second thought. Yes, in this modern world the mobile is a necessity, but along with the mobile parents should advise their children to be religious”.

Rajgopal further said, “For our mind, there is no age, only our body becomes weak when we grow old but the mind will depend on how we think. We need to respect others because India has unity in diversity and people from all walks of life live here. We need to respect Christians, Hindus, and Muslims. We are Indians first and we should live in unity and harmony”.

Advocate Raghavendra Rao speaking on the occasion said, “The Yuva Bikarnakatte have set an example by rendering their helping hand to the less fortunate. We need more and more youth to come forward and serve the society. Nowadays most of the youth do not believe in superstitious beliefs which is a good sign but at the same time we should not forget our culture and tradition”.

Recalling the quote of Abdul Kalam, ‘You cannot change your future, you can change your habits and surely your habits will change your future’, Raghavendra said, “We cannot change our future but it is possible for us to change our habits by following our tradition and culture. Today whatever Yuva Bikarnakatte members have done, should be continued and we all should strengthen them in continuing their good work.”

Five families were given financial aid on the occasion. Various cultural programmes were held. Jitendra Kottari and others were also present. Sadanand from Yuva Bikarnakatte delivered the vote of thanks.
