  • From SAM on Mangaluru: Police Arrest Protesters for Shouting Slogans Against Tipu Sultan

Dear Indians, Tipu Sultan, the greatest freedom fighter of India no doubt about it. We should recall the contributions of the Tiger of Mysore during the freedom struggle. “Tipu sacrificed his life fighting against the British. His dedication and sacrifice should be an inspiration to the youth,” Tipu was among the first to take up arms against the British. He even sacrificed his two children for the cause of the country. Even foreigner know his contribution to the country. Ask any Britishers they will say the contribution of Tipu and his determination to push-out Britisher form India. According to historians, Tipu was the only king in the history of world who died on the battlefield fighting the enemies of the country. He was the first to introduce and use rockets against country’s enemies. We should respect his contribution to the county. He is great patriarch. Government would have initiated to celebrated such Jayanti long years back, but better late than never. Current government did justice to great King. the fact everyone know, for the sake of disturb the peace, some ignorant people doing such mischievous act, because he was a Muslim King (here religion play vital role, actually this should not be the case) See the irony, some vested interest want to celebrate killer of father of nation Godse and disrupt the celebration of great King’s Jayanti. Government should not pay heed to such hypocrite and go ahead with the celebration. I think central govt should think to make Tippu’s Birth anniversary a national celebration and announce government holiday. Hope such good news will come soon. Then only peace prevails under Modi Govt. people could leave with harmony keeping aside all the negative perception among the religion (the main targets are Muslims and Christians)

“We accept that some of the Christians in Canara were tortured by Tipu because of their involvement in supporting the British” – Report quoting some unknown political entity addressing a group of 10 people. “Some” of the christians? As per historical accounts, it runs into thousands and thousands!! Read James Scurry’s memoir. He was held captive by these wonderful appa-maga (hyder aali – tipu) regime for almost 10 years before he managed to escape. He does talk about what Hindus and Christians suffered under Sultan who desperately wanted to be seen as a powerful ‘muslim’ king in the eyes of other Islamic rulers. In fact, all of his court dealings were done in elite Persian language even though people (including appa-maga) could speak and understand only Hindustani!!! He recruited only Muslim folks to all the top, powerful positions. You can see plenty of proof for this in all the communications seized by British and later translated by researchers to English. As I wrote yesterday, communal Congress always takes advantage of one group to worship another group!!! What does Roy, Manga, joker Praveena Pinto and AS Beef Mathew have to say about Tipu Jayanti? I’m sure they fully support this idea!! smiles…

RSS Pai, original duplicate, says, “As I wrote yesterday, communal Congress always takes advantage of one group to worship another group!!!” RSS did it not only between groups, but also individuals, gods and religions. Examples: Hindus vs Non-Hindus. Gandhi vs Subhaschandra Bose. Nehru vs Sardar Patel. Indira vs Lal Bahadur Shastri. ETC. THEY ALWAYS CREATE “ANTI GOD AGAINST EVERY GOD”, SO TO SAY. LATEST IN KARNATAKA: THE RSS MADE GOD OUT OF A PERSON, WHO WAS CLAIMED TO BE ELIMINATED BY THE CONGRESS GOVERNMENT OF SIDDARAMAYYAA, WHO IS FOUND TO BE A PERSON WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE FOR HIS LOVE TO A MARRIED WOMAN AND HAD INDULGED IN ILLEGALLY SETTING UP A COMPANY OWNING HUGE AGRICULTURAL LAND. THIS IS THE FINDING OF THE CBI OF MODI AND NOT OF SIDDARAMAYYA’S POLICE! PEOPLE WHO CLAMBERED FOR CBI INVESTIGATIONS LOOK THE OTHER WAY NOW, AS IF NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.

He is not. In fact, BJP has tried to distance itself from this illiterate who rightfully got arrested for making such an idiotic statement.-Atheist Mr.Original Sir,The RSS political wing BJP and his pracharaks and its swamy sevaks never found to be accountable for any act against the state. When followers Naturam Godse wanted to built temple for killing Father of nation the Modi’s government remain silent. When Godhra was burning for 3 days then CM Modi compared the victims to puppies accidently came under his motorcade and justified with Newton’s action reaction theory. They defend the so called social organisation which twirls Lati and naked sword in public and gives weapon training.Today the secularism of India is in the path of Syria,Iraq or Rwanda where value human life hardly existing. The ‘Godhra model’ is best example which Modi’s India wanted to repeat by rebranding ‘Gujarat Model’. There is 25% increase of communal related violence and 6 lynching in in six weeks related to beef politics. Hardly Anyone Is Talking About This Dadri-Type Lynching Of A Muslim Headmaster In Manipur http://www.huffingtonpost.in/2015/11/05/lynching-manipur_n_8477064.html But Modi’s center government is still in denial mode, as if everything happens in non-BJP ruled states are ruling party responsible for the state. Is BJP ready to take responsibility of Godhra? Then why Mr.Kejriwal should be responsible for every rape in Delhi which administration and police is direct responsibilities of center? • From shAIKH mOHD rizwan on Udupi: Violence During Tipu Jayanti Will Not be Tolerated - Dr G Parameshwar

Dear readers, BJP dismissed the legendary Mysore ruler, who has inspired generations of patriots, as an anti-national. It’s Mysore legislator, Go Madhusudan, decried the move to set up a university in Tipu’s name and explained the logic behind branding him an anti-national: “Let’s not forget the recorded fact that he invited Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali to wage a war against India. This shows he was an anti-national and doesn’t deserve to be venerated.” The BJP, in its zeal to paint Tipu in anti-national colours, didn’t realise the fallacy of its claim. The first time Abdali invaded India in 1748, Tipu was not even born. When Abdali defeated the Marathas at Panipat in 1761, Tipu was only a 10-year-old child and a hostage of Khande Rao, the Mysorean general who had hatched a plot with the Wodeyar queen mother to oust Hyder Ali, then the subedar of Dindigul and jagirdar of Bangalore. In fact, it was the Maratha defeat at Panipat that had helped Tipu’s beleaguered father to seize power in 1761. Tipu Sultan did, however, seek an international alliance with Abdali’s grandson, Zaman Shah Durrani, Revolutionary France, Iran and the Ottoman Empire to throw out the British. Now, if he could be called anti-national for this, then we have to imagine the British as the rightful rulers of this country. In the 18th century, the Marathas were depredators of temples from east to south India, stationing troops in the garbha-griha (sanctum sanctorum) of major temples, melting temple metal for ammunition and so on. This was a period of war and normal rules didn’t apply, and marauders were no respecters of religious differences. Interestingly, the ideal monarch, Asoka, ancient exemplar for modern India, self-confessedly killed hundreds of thousands of Hindus in war before converting to Buddhism. So will the BJP reject Ashoka and Ashoka emblem from the national flag? History means knowing context and not subscribing to polarising myths.Instead of making these empty noises, they should be studying the administration and warfare of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Jai Hind

  • From RTD on Udupi: Mahila Congress Holds Protest Against Modi Government for Price Rise

PRICE RISE! RISING PRICES! BLAME THE GOVERNANCE IN POWER! Most of these people agitating do not understand the cycle of commerce taxation, budget deficits, and more taxes, and inflation. Take for example Mr. Modi’s Swwachh Bharath drive, now he wants to impose a .5% tax for it! Meaning, an addition 50 paise to the already existing 14.5% VAT. It justifies a 400Cr. revenue mop up to offset the ever existing deficit budget of India. Don’t be surprised it Mr. Modi’s Beti Bachaao and Beti Padau drive, to come with another tax – India is the only country with +150 types of taxation to the common man. What does it give in return is anybody’s guess – BIG TALKS AND BIG PROJECTS THAT NEVER MATERIALISE! Inflation is the direct result of the many taxes forcibly imposed on Indians by the government – Congress or BJP it does not make a difference. Why Indira Gandhi had even introduced Entertainment Tax for watching TV at home!!!!

Parameshwara and communal Congress has effectively silenced another minority group by siding with supporters of Tipu Sultaan. It is a very clever move by Congress, I must admit. The party leaders like Parameshwara, Siddaraamayya and others clearly know that the opposition to Tipu Sultaan is not just coming from sanaathana dharma followers. But, the party doesn’t even care about the ‘other’ group!! This is why an author on this portal used analogy of ‘biriyaani’ to illustrate his point leading up to 2014 election. I also remember how Praveena Pinto struggled to understand the analogy for months fully justifying why and how communal congress manages to fool one group of people very easily!! LOL

Dear readers As it normally happens in India, the media is feeling more triumphant than the sleuths who might have pulled the strings away from the camera glares to get India’s one of the most wanted men nabbed. The coverage of the Chhota Rajan arrest is divided with many theories doing the rounds. Did Chhota Rajan turn himself in because his arch rival Dawood Ibrahim wants him dead? Did the Indonesian police really nab him from where it is claiming to have nabbed him? Is there a secret deal between the don and the government of India? Will the don be brought to India and tried in the court of law? Will he get off with light punishment because he might have appeared out of nowhere to help the intelligence agencies get their hands on Dawood Ibrahim? Chhota Rajan now, is Dawood Ibrahim next on the list? Has the government scored a major coup de grâce by ensnaring this retired don into its trap who shut his shop several years ago and is out of touch with the latest developments in the underworld? As you can see, attempts are on to play down the diplomatic victory vis-a-vis Chhota Rajan’s arrest from the foreign soil. At the same time Chhota Rajan is freely allowed to talk to media and express his desire to return to his homeland. This is strange given the fact that Chhota Rajan is an expert at giving slips to the police much to the surprise of everybody. Two decades on run.Is Modi’s government extended ‘Humanitarian’ aide to gangster to pin the rival across the border?Does it wants to send strong signal to arch rival Pakistan and get some popularity back like Americans operations in Abbottabad? Dear Dr. Sunil J. Rao, You are very right, doctor. Bahrain and Oman are the best countries as far as social life, human rights and liberties are concerned. However, Oman is a beautiful land, considering that a family can go on holidays every week-end in that vast land. I was fortunate to be in Bahrain, where people of all faiths, including Jews, live happily. There are mosques, temples, churches and burial and cremation grounds. Saud Arabia is the worst. A dead man was given the option by God to go to hell or, if he wishes, Saudi Arabia. He opted for hell. Saudi Arabia is so bad, unless one is an illiterate clergy, a religious fanatic or a drunkard, gambler, etc. who cannot be refirned or if a man is living downtown in a given Saudi town and is only interested in working, eating sleeping and performing prayers and having no other interests or hobbies in life. Amazing! A country awash with petro-dollars having primitive mentality. That is why Saudis, when they go outside, they drink like a fish, smoke like a chimney, run after women, some of them go to Egypt and other places and molest male teenagers, consume narcotics, etc. In Saudi Arabia, there are no human rights, freedom of worship, no free press, sham courts that are run under Sharia laws (amazing, considering that we are living in the 21st century and not in ancient or medieval times).

Being one of d organiser I still cherish the event. Wonderful response received by fly members. Normally in any fly function we show our presence for very little time n try to say hello n vanish. But this event was an opportunity for all of us to spend time together for almost a day, share each others feelings n olden days memories etc. Despite busy schedule maximum fly members particular in the event and that was the proud moment for us the organisers. Let us improve d relationship within fly by occasionally organising such re-unions.

The antiques displayed look so amazing and it looks like everyone in the Castelino family had a good time recalling their ancestry and fun things during the yester years. I am originally from surrounding areas of Kulshekar-Neermarga, now settled in UK, but I do remember few folks from the Makhale Castelino’s. Anyways, congrats for celebrating family reunion, which surely might have brought back golden memories of decades.

Bengaluru: TV sting claims minister’s wife took bribe. PUT 2 + 2 TOGETHER AND FIND OUT IF IT IS 4. “Tenders were invited for the supply of food items, and 17 bidders had participated in it. The tender was awarded to the lowest bidder. ” PLUS “In the sting operation, representatives of the TV channel first approached Deputy Director of Backward Classes Welfare Department, Prabhakar, posing as businessmen and sought a contract to supply food items to hostels.” THIS WAS AFTER AWARDING THE TENDER, AND NOT BEFORE! SO, ACCORDING TO THE STING OPERATION, SEEKING FOR THE CONTRACT AND PAYMENT OF BRIBE WERE MADE AFTER THE CONTRACTS WERE ALREADY GIVEN TO THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS! IT IS LIKE SAYING “A TV CHANNEL CONDUCTS A STING OPERATION. IT IS CAPTURED IN THE VIDEO THAT A CHILD WAS BORN FIRST IN POINT OF TIME. THEN ONE RAPES THAT WOMAN. THEN THE TV CHANNEL CONDUCTING STING OPERATION CLAIMS THAT THE CHILD WAS BORN TO THE RAPIST, EVEN THOUGH THE CHILD WAS BORN FIRST AND THE RAPIST RAPED ONLY SUBSEQUENTLY” FRIENDS, BELIEVE THIS STORY, FOR THE ALLEGATION IS AGAINST THE CONGRESS; AND THE ALLEGATIONS ARE MADE BY THE RSS S! This is just getting so silly – just like small school boys fighting over nothing! This mudslinging back and forth is not going to get us anywhere! What happened all these years when each one ate what they wanted and we were all at peace. So, why has this now become such an issue when there are more serious issues facing our nation? What about the rapists who rape small children! They go scot-free – or maybe on bail. There is no policing on this issue of raping and/or eve teasing, but police have now the right and also the “other public moral police” have the right to invade persons home to see what they have in their fridges or in their cooking pot! But rapists are free to roam the streets! Just unbelievable. It is a crying shame and now wonder that they call India as the rape capital of the world! So, is this a great honor to have? Politicians should ask themselves this question. Let these personal prejudices be set aside and let us focus on the problems that are facing humanity!

Oh well, looking at his hatred towards RSS, I wonder what kind of degrees he got from Londonistaan!! I’m sure he has many friends in Luton!! smiles…It’s nauseating to see how quickly these guys compare RSS to Taliban. RSS has been around for so many decades and it is known for organizing ‘saarvajanika ganeshotsava’ while Talibaan is a armed militant organization that took power in Afghanistan by slaughtering whoever opposed it. One has all the rights to criticize RSS. However, to compare RSS to Talibaan shows the level of dishonesty, religious bigotry and derangement these guys are suffering from. Also, it shows how they are all secret sympathizers of Taalibaan and the dark ideology behind it!! Otherwise, why would you ever compare RSS to Taliban ???

“It is not part of the culture to keep women caged inside the house without any contact with the outside world” Author seems to be confused when it comes to some of the realities in our society. Long gone are the days when women were kept ‘caged’. A quick look at our schools, banks, factories, malls, IT sector and hospitals will show you plenty of Hindu and Christian women taking full advantage of modern India, its liberal policies and opportunities. However, there is one community that is known for moral policing its women and stopping them from getting higher education or employment. The same community is also known for making women hide their identity in the name of ‘modesty’. I wish Author focused on real cases of moral policing than recycling some of the old incidents.

A Good write up by Ms.Niva Shetty. BUT the Practical Facts Look a little different. No Doubt All Rights are Given in the Constitution to Women on Equal terms. The Reality points to generally its The One community having Affairs or ”Love” or Fun with the Majority community Girls. When the other Community prevents Girls to even Show their face. Its just my observation without any bias.No doubt Violence of Any kind has to strongly dealt with. BUT unless we try to understand the Reality we will only be trying to Treat the Symptoms & NOT the CAUSE. Even the Party at the ‘Reputed’ Hotel was organized by one community boys [ I was told, not sure] & Naturally the Girls are from the different community. So when people want to Create trouble they will tell the case of Film Actors having Girls from Majority community even as Second Wives after marrying having their Religion Kids and Again Marrying Kareena Kapoor, Kiran Rao, Amritha Singh, Reena, Gauri, Mallika Chaiyya Chaiyya Girl, etc…Its All very nice & Secular…BUT when Only one community, Majority Community feels used, these inner angst remains. We have to address this. Even as comparison Pakistan has reduced the Hindu population to bare 1 % where as it increase here. All these Are the True Real Causes & NOT just what you have written. This is my observation….We can have a healthy debate on it to find a mid way to find a Real Solution to this Constant irritation in the To Be SMART CITY…..NICE Article Ms. Niva…Cheers..!!!

Moral policing in India is no different than what Taliban does in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The only difference is that it is imposed by the RSS instead of Taliban! Moral policing violates fundamental rights of Indians and also the civil rights of Indians. People cannot tolerate a girl meeting a boy because they could not do it or have no guts to do it. What happens between two people is their own business. Whether it is the Taliban or the RSS – they have no business to interfere and they must be held accountable for any violation of the fundamental and/or civil rights and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I fully agree with Mr D’Souza article and his observation as to how easily one can get things into the prison from outside, either by climbing the nearby trees or simply toss things over the not so high wall. Quick action should be taken by the authorities in providing better security and other facilities, before yet another fight or death occurs. This case is very clear for two reasons: ## Threat to cause violence is not allowed in any open, democratic society. He should be charged for this unacceptable behavior. ## BJP can not escape from this as this incident happened at an event organized by BJP. As party, it is responsible for organizing the event and threats issues at the venue. This is similar to private corporation where the company will be held responsible when employee does something illegal at company’s office using its resources!!

Why the BJP and RSS leaders justify it? This woman says that beef eating is unconstitutional. In India, beef eating is allowed under the law of the land, subject to certain restrictions. Beef eating and butchering of cows is permitted by RSS in Goa and in the states ruled by BJP, in the states like Meghalaya, Arunanchal, Nagaland, Mizoram, etc. Why? Is beef eating legal if the non-Hindus are in majority in any state ruled by BJP? Is this the RSS Dharma Sutra ? Is land mafia and mining mafia by her colleague in Karnataka legal? Is there separate law for Shobha Karandlaje and Yediyurappa?

ABP News investigation has revealed that Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra sold land to a company that only exists on papers, whereas every other thing about the company was a lie. WHAT IS THE ISSUE? A controversial land deal was made in which a piece of Bikaner land exchanged many hands before coming to Robert Vadra. Vadra bought the land at Rs 79 lakh and in a short-span of 4 years, sold it to a company called Allegany Finlease Pvt Ltd in 2012 for Rs 5 crore 44 lakh. The company was registered to a CR Park address, which turned out to be of the office of a CA. After 15 days of investigation, company’s director and companies share-holders were also fake. COMPANY’S ADDRESS FAKE When ABP News went to the registered address of Allegany Finlease Pvt Ltd, the company was not found. Instead, it was the office of company’s CA. The CA didn’t speak on camera. However, on candid cam, he accepted that the company was fake. He said the company only exists on paper. COMPANY DIRECTOR IS FACTORY MANAGER Allegany Finlease Pvt Ltd has three directors. While one is a manger in other company, the other evaded camera and the third didn’t come out of his house to meet us. FAKE SHAREHOLDERS ABP News investigated few shareholders of the company. When we reached those addresses, many shareholders didn’t know they owned shares of the company. Many shareholders were not even living on the addresses. When will Vadra go to the birth place of Sri Krishna? Kadengodlu Shankara Bhat asks me. sir, when Modi went to USA recently he raised the matter there. He should rather prosecute and punish Vadra in the court of law in India. He is not doing it. Ask him to prove the crime and get him punished. Do you agree with Arun Shaurie that Modi’s government = (Congress + Cow) government? The ‘Birth place of Krishna’ is in side a mosque in Mathura. Ask Modi and RSS to hand it over to the Hindus.

  • From RTD on Udupi: CSI's Retired Pastor Rev M R T Pal (86) Dies of Road Mishap Injuries

It’s truly sad that a 86 year old man, a Pastor, was knocked by a motorcycle in front of Mother of Sorrow Church, Udupi. May his soul rest in peace. It could have been anyone on these hazardous Udupi roads. The Udupi Traffic Dept. has not foreseen any amenities or facilities for pedestrians, and walking or crossing the roads in Udupi is risky and hazardous. There are no street lights near Diana Circle, and no pedestrian crossing too. The main and only Traffic Light at this junction is forever OFF, even at nights, when it is pitch dark in this area. Another hazardous junctiure is near the City Bus Stand/Kediyoor Road leading to Bannanje Road, another one is the Ajjarkad and Court Road Junction, another one is the Gundiabail and Kalsanka Junction – Why can’t the Traffic Dept. put up Traffic Lights – they earn so much revenue from taxes and fees from vehicles sales, licences, etc. The bikers and private bus operators are the most negligent drivers on Udupi roads – that is devoid of dividers, traffic lights, and pedestrian crossings. They do not observe any speed limits inside the city, the signs that are non existant. It is high time for Mr. Sorake – the person responsible for all the above to wake up and take action, and for Mr. Madhwaraj to inaugrate all the development works. The Udupi Traffic Dept. is a useless body and hardly plays any role in managing traffic, pedestrians, or their Dept. The Udupi Municipality too is useless, and wants every donated by people or companies that seek favours in return, and does not keep Garbage Bins in Public areas, does not check the 1000 odd illegal shops in and around Udupi, to name the latest, SPICY NIGHTS, a fairly large illegal restaurant set up on the Malpe main road, right in front of the school in Adi Udupi – plus MESCOM has also given electrical connection. One can observe corruption at the highest form in Udupi without the need for people like me to write and comment.

It’s completely different when you are trying to do it in a place like Mangaluru city where the roads and traffic are absolutely dangerous and not designed for bicycles!! This shows that he is not only good in speed and strength, but also in quick reflexes. More than everything, this is a very positive, healthy thing for mangauluru youth. The student council will therefore bring more productive results for Fr. Mullers. You are on the right track.

  • From Vinayak on Mangaluru: Caution! Cassia Spice, Not Nice-It looks like Cinnamon but Hazardous to Health

I fully agree with this gentlemen, until I found out the truth during my trip to Sri Lanka. Thick scale / barks what we get in india is not the pure or actual cinnamon and is just a “look alike” kind of spicy. This bark is widely grown in india, iran and parts of CIS countries. True cinnamon which is grown in Sri Lanka tastes far better and is also sweet, while cassia is very strong and pungent. True cinnamon is very expensive in Sri Lanka as it is hand raised and hand peeled. The bark is not used and only the inner thin layer is use and dried under smoke on the ropes avoiding direct sunlight. Bark and inner length is then used to extract cinnamon oil, which is once again very strong and effective for headaches, cold, pains of joints etc..etc.. Let’s all put hands together and join this gentlemen to save our own lives as well as of others.

Crime Dept Policemen enters the Brawl of Rowdies without thinking if anyone carries a weapon which could be used against them thus loosing their own life saving others. But Society only looks only wrong in them as they take bribe. They do not think about bribe taken by Politicians, and other Government officials including RTO,Registration Officers, Public Workers including Lokayukta now a days. • From Nelson Lewis on Udupi: Sacrifices of police personnel remembered on Martyrs' Day

Mr. Joe D’Souza, When I was abroad, I knew a person having the same name as yours and he hailed from Goa. That was a long time ago and he was much elder to me and I do not think you are that person. I have read plenty of non-fictional stuff on various issues, had the privilege to speak to knowledgeable people who told me how the governments in India work and why corruption cannot be eliminated and totally stamped out of India and this matter has been further aggravated because people do not unite and take the governments, bureaucrats and authorities to task. My attitude will be, “Well, Joe D’Souza is facing the music. Why should I get involved, when it does not concern me?” They know it very well and, therefore, fool the people and take them for a ride. This apart, I read respectable print media and also electronic media, besides suring the Internet and watching Youtube. Take it from me that all politicians, bureaucrats, government and municipal employees are corrupt. Most of my countrymen are not able to see things through, because, as Justice Katju said, they are stupid. I would also add that most Indians are naive, stupid, lack quality education or are semi or illiterates. It is no use having done graduation, post-graduation or PhD from run-of-the-mill universities or studied for some Engineering Certificate or Diploma from say, Montu Crasto Institute of Technology and then he and his relations brag that he is educated. The quality of education from most engineering colleges can be gauged from the fact that, if I recall correctly, Narayana Murthy telling an American lady interviewing him that most of his employees may have done graduation and post-graduation in computer engineering, but since the quality is poor, they have to be trained by Infosys for another two years to be acceptable in their work culture. In U.S., most Americans of Indian origins have done B.Tech. and M.Tech. from IITs and are not BEs and MEs from Regional Colleges or Educational Trusts. Take for example an Officer with IPS background. He has not joined IPS to do good for the people and society, but by serving his seniors and his political masters he is not only enriching them, but also himself. Please read the book, “Carnage by Angels,” by Y.P. Singh, a highly honest and no nonsense IPS cadrre offcer who resigned and today is highly successful lawyer. IPS officers who have worked till retirement and have got President’s Police Medal and other medals, citations and accolades, have served their masters obediently, though to media and people they have shown their tougher side. From what I have read, there is a unholy alliance between the ministers, politicians and police. Police have lots of probems and they have to be looked into and addressed. Somewhere in late 1990s or early 2000s, there was an IPS officers’ conferece held in Delhi I think, probably attended by the Home Minister and other politicians. In that conference, I read in th media that all IPS officers came on the mike and spoke about their problems and their pay packages should be hiked (and what not). It ws only Mr. Arvind Inamdar, who was the DGP of Maharashtra then, who came to the mike and did not speak about himself or IPS fraternity, but appealed to the government to address the problems of policemen, Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors. In short, this shows how selfish IPS people are. When thy retire, most of them own farmhouses. From where the money came? Forget bout other trappings of wealth. So, just do not get carried away by speeches, when their hearts are not sincere. If the ministers decide to eliminate corruption, then it can be done. But, if they themselves are corrupt, certainly bureaucrafts will be willingly subservient to their political masters, because they too can line their pockets. Therefore, India needs a Prime Minister of the calibre of Lee Kuan Yew, the founder of modern Singpore (and not Narendra Modi, Dr. Manmohan Singh or anyone for that matter), who put all corrupt politicians behind bars.

If the Muslims give up beef eating in India and facilitate building of Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, the Congress is really happy, for it would reduce the polarization of Hindu votes in favour of the RSS, which in turn would certainly reduce the indiscriminate Hindu Militancy. It is good for the nation and for the well being, peaceful co-existence of Indians with peace and tranquility and allow all-round progress and development. It may bring the Kashmiri Muslims to the main stream. This may bring India and Pakistan closer and reduce mutual mistrust and conflict, reducing huge defense expenditure enabling required funds for uplifting of all citizens of both the countries.

If you feel India to be turning Intolerant due to the current central govt, then let me please clarify – its because of pseudo seculars like yourself ( Author). The communal elements that you have mentioned in the article existed all through India’s independence. No media glorified them or gave any colour to their slogans. Its now that media has declared a war against the Modi’s govt and wants to paint a different picture about India internationally. Adding fuel to the fire are reporters and “authors” like respected yourself who make a hill out of mole and call a stray statement or an incident as an attack on some religion or caste or creed and try to illusion the readers. Also to clarify – your 31% vote point is simply baseless. If you analyse India electorate results, It has been hovering around this rate and its not anything NEW. This 31% vote has also in the past brought so called PRO minority govt to power. So my humble request to authors like you is to drop hate and concentrate on the progressive policies and good work done by this NDA Govt. See how the central administration is now responding to a common mans honest requests, be it ministry of External affairs or any other portfolio. Atleast propagate how the govt machinery has become efficient in this regime and how international agencies are endorsing brand India’s new face now ! Jai Hind!

Here is a simple litmus test for honesty: – Whenever someone brings up ‘ink’ attack on Sudheendra Kulkarni, I would like to know if they expressed any outrage when similar attacks were carried out on Baba Ramdev and Prmod Muthalik. For the record, I have opposed all ‘ink’ attacks irrespective of the individuals involved. – Whenever someone brings up intolerance of hindu groups, I would like to know if they had the same outrage when some groups opposed and banned any publication of cartoons? For the record, I fully support ALL religious satire.

As respected Ex Sgt George A Borromeo has put it, we can’t look at India-Pakistan issue as a fight between just a political class and military. This is a fight between two ways of life and societies. India stands for secular, progressive ideas while Pakistan is all about Islam. Remember, it is an “Islamic” republic. India is a multi-cultural, pluralistic society while Pakistan is founded on expansionist, aggressive ideology that wants to conquer the world. There is no way you can make peace with this backward society. Bollywod and Cricket are two useless industries filled with greedy, talent-less folks. They have done more damage to India than any other recent groups or industries. Unfortunately, most of Indians very uneducated, ill-informed, gullible and believe in whatever comes out of these two industries. Shiva Sainikas and other have the right to protest as long as they don’t engage in violence or property damage.

You think it would have ended up with a harmless episode of heckling? By the way, when did heckling become illegal? It’s part of freedom of speech. Moreover, the group respected the private property and talked to the person only outside as per the report. However, I should point out that any form of threat is not acceptable. If these folks threatened him, it should be taken very seriously. Moral of the story – Raama, krishna, Jesus, Buddha, panjurli, kallurti…everyone is allowed for tattoos except one ‘peaceful’ figure. BCCI is a mafia set up and they do not disclose their earnings and expenses and I wonder if their accounts are audited. The members of the Executive Committee are all dons and they fight tooth and nail and indulge in all underhand activities to get elected because they can line their pockets. If the Pakistanis visit India, then the cricket fans will pay through their noses to buy tickets and passes, millions will be earned by granting television rights, sponsorships, advertisements, etc. All the BCCI bigwigs, ex-cricketers who are pliable and malleable commodities (whose only obsession is earning money by hook or by crook) and commentators, especially Harsha Bhogle, who does not know anything about cricket, as he is not an international or, for that matter, even a club cricketer have a fantastic time. In a country which is cricket crazy and cricketers are considered to be Gods, BCCI has a field day in fooling people. Look at Lalit Modi. He had politicians that matter and all powers-that-be in his pocket. He kept them happy and they are obligated to him for the favours he has granted. They have compromised themselves for him to stay in England and the Government of India will never get him deported to India, because under the police or CBI interrogation he will sing like a canary and sing well and reveal the names of ministers, politicians and others and that will be a huge embarrassment to the government. From what we have read in electronic and print media, even Narendra Modi has friendly relations at one juncture with Lalit Modi, so he is silent. Sadly, most Indian cricket enthusiasts’ knowledge of cricket is limited to contemporaries. You ask them, who is the greatest all time batsman, most of them will say Sachin Tendulkar, whose test average is 53.78 and there are scores of batsmen who have better averages than him and scored under arduous conditions and most of them earned peanuts and it ends with Sir Don Bradman (test ave. 99.94). Some naive characters have said that Sachin Tendular is greater than Sir Don Bradman. This is a height of exaggeration.

In the recent past I have read three books, namely Tinderbox by M.J. Akbar, A Land of Invisible Women by Dr. Qanta A. Ahmed and Amen: An Autobiography of a Nun by Sister Jesme, an ex-Carmelite nun. You should read the last book first to realise and appreciate the difficulties faced by junior nuns, the discrimination and the politics. I do not say that all nuns are bad, but some could be rotten apples, like our netas. Many priests and nuns are doing a noble job and they are instrumental in setting up and running the best schools, colleges, hospitals, etc. That is why, contrary to what fanatical elements say, non-Catholics do not admit their children in free schools, religious or municipal schools, but want to be admitted in Catholic schools and colleges. However, read this book.

    • From Nelson Lewis on Kin of TN maid in Saudi dismiss mental disturbance claim

Original R. Pai, I opened the web address that you have provided showing a mentally sick and fanatical Muslim from East London (where there is a heavy concentration of Muslims who arrived in U.K. and/or their children, who were born there) being interviewed by a British female journalist and taking her around on his moral policing rounds. Does that nut think, he is a Muttawa in Saudi Arabia? She interviewed this man and, at other time, another of his fanatical associate and I am led to believe that these people are not religious, but a bunch of thoroughly brain-washed fanatics, who just cannot be redeemed. They are simply beyond repair. From my observations of him and his associates, i.e. their looks, views, persona and behaviour, I feel that they are desi pardesi, i.e. British of Pakistani origin and they have made the U.K. their homes and it is their mission to introduce Islam and the Sharia not only in the U.K. and the Europe. This is preposterous. Why could they not remain in Pakistan and do whatever they wanted there and add to the already existing confusion and chaos? I saw him approaching two white men enjoying their beer on a grassy patch and advising them to not drink there and go away. What does this crackpot think of himself? Due to turmoil in Pakistan and other places they have come from, they go to West to save their skins and instead of grabbing the God-given opportunity to transform themselves by seeing the world, absorbing the good things it has to offer, i.e. good jobs, education, grooming and dressing in a presentable way on an international stage, they behave in a fanatical manner. This is preposterous and amazing stuff indeed. With the U.S.A., it has been the case of “once bitten, twice shy,” after 11th September 2001. Prior to that any Arabian Gulf national arriving at international airports in the U.S.A. was just waved in, because they were coming with plenty of cash to splurge around in the States. Today, they are very wary. They have detained Sharukh Khan, so what about lesser mortals? A member of the Royal Family (and his family) were found to be carrying expensive perfumes in their hand baggage while departing from U.S.. These bottles were confiscated and dumped away, inspite of the Shaikh protesting that they cannot do this, because he is closely related to the Ruling Family. In anger, he said that he will not visit the U.S.A. ever again. I have observed in advanced economies and truly democratic countries, religions are not given importance at governmental or political levels, but ample freedom is given to practice it in people’s homes and places of worship. Further, there should be no place for Catholic priests (virtually all of whom are educated or well educated), Protestant Pastors, Bhatjis, Mullas and priests from other denominations in politics, because they are not trained for that and they have, being priests, a different mindset. Mohd. Ali Jinnah used to say, “In politics, there should be no place for Mullas and Pandits.” Original R. Pai, thank you for sharing this web address, which I found to be both fascinating and hilarious. These crackpots go about posing as religious but, in fact, are a bunch of fanatics.

Mr. B.N. Pai, the Armchair Advocate I do not say that R.S.S. is better, but if you say that the Arabs are a thousand times better than R.S.S., then something is wrong with you or you are naive or you are opinionated. It appears you are not able to differentiate between chalk and cheese. If you say that R.S.S. is a thousand times worse than Arab organisations, you just do not know their activities and crimes, viz. Al Fatah, P.L.O., Al Fedayeen, I.S.I.S., Muslim Brotherhood and others. Touch wood, till today, R.S.S., when compared with these organizations, appear to be sages, though liberal Hindus and those with quality education have nothing to do with them. The one Arab country which has no democracy, no free press, no human rights and their nationals are involved in terrorism Before being liquidated, the greatest terrorist was their national. How about spending time in that country and writing for EYT? Their censors will keep a watch on you and you will be hauled by ther authorities and what not, unless and until you are writing something which they perceive as harmless and trivial. Even today, all letters and documents going out and coming in, including photos, are being checked. A Pakistani activist, Zahid Hamid I believe, was always critical of the U.S., India and Saudi Arabia and would always say that Pakistan should follow the vision and teachings of Mohd. Ali Jinnah (a non-practising Muslim, because he did not pray or attend the mosque) and Allama Iqbal (who initially composed that song, “Sarey jahan sey Hindustan hai achha hamara and then changed it to Pakistan) for it to get out of the mess, was immediate arrested when he landed with his family to perform Umra. Zahid Hamid wanted Sharia laws in Pakistan and under the same laws he was tried and sentenced to seven or eight years in jail and countless lashes. This happened in July, but after Pakistan repeatedly begged and pleaded, he has been released. If you feel that Arabs are better, join the Palestinians in their ongoing clashes with the Israelis or be a legal adviser to their leadership. If you have the harakiri tendencies, kindly join the I.S.I.S. and show your bravery. Everyone will be applauding your heroics and one of your ardent admirers will have tear in his eyes. Just think about it.

Yes – that’s exactly what we all thought. As both media and police have astutely pointed out, the murder victim was a ‘BD activist’ and ‘hindu activist’. But those who killed him happened to be just regular folks with no religion or no religious motivation. They probably killed him because they had a bad day or something!! Nothing to worry. Remember, hate crime is applicable only when a Hindu kills a minority. Also, it’s extremely comforting to hear that Police didn’t even approach and record statement from eye-witness because he was ‘depressed’. Wonderful job indeed!! Death Penalty for Those Who Slaughter Cows: BJP Lawmaker Sakshi Maharaj” Dear readers, Within 24 hours of Maunendra Modi’s ‘Sad incident’ comment another citizen of India is brutally murdered in similar incident like Dadri executed by Bajrang Dal activist in Congress ruled state of Himachal Pradesh. In an apparent to the Modi breaking ‘Maun Vrath’ on Dadri, another RSS pracharak appointed as Chief Minister of Haryana says “Muslim rahein, magar is desh mein beef khaana chhodna hi hoga unko. Yahan ki manyata hai gau (Muslims can continue to live in this country but they will have to give up eating beef. The cow is an article of faith here).Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi’s charge in Jaipur”Money through trade of slaughtered animals goes into terrorism, therefore into killing us, why are we allowing this?” Listen to Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar saying Muslims have to give up beef http://indianexpress.com/videos/exclusive-video/listen-to-haryana-chief-minister-m-l-khattar-saying-muslims-have-to-give-up-beef/ Now another elected representative from Modi’s good governance swami Sakshi Maharaj wanted to rub salt into somebody’s wounds. In Independent day addressing to the nation Feku declared that he would like to run the country on the basis of consensus and not on majority in Parliament and called for a 10-year moratorium on caste and communal violence in the country. In recent Bihar election rally he says “The country has to stand united. Harmony, brotherhood and peace will lead us to development,” . In America he is pitching for ‘Digital India’,’Make in India’ and presenting India as America of south Asia. As an evidence to the ‘development’ Modi’s government acknowledged that there is rise in communal violence. India Witnessed Rise In Communal Violence Under Modi Government, Says Amnesty http://www.huffingtonpost.in/2015/02/25/amnesty-modi_n_6748946.html Communal violence shows 24% jump in first five months of 2015, shows govt data http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Communal-violence-shows-24-jump-in-first-five-months-of-2015-shows-govt-data/articleshow/48167102.cms “A Rat is Lord Ganesha’s ride.. everyone kills rats by poisoning them, or they are killed/used in lab testing.. no one blinks an eye-lid.. Monkeys are a roop of Hanuman.. they are mistreated in circuses and are killed in lab testing.. no one bothers. He further asked for the ban on killing of snake, fish, pigs, buffalo, owl, crow and frog, citing these animals’ relevance in Hindu religion.”The snake is revered too as it is around Shiva’s neck and also there is a festival called ‘Nag Panchmi’.. but snakes are killed the moment people spot them.. Pigs are killed for ham and bacon, but Varaha devta is worshipped by Hindus. Fish ( matsya ) is the first avatar of Lord Vishnu,”Buffalo is the sawari of Lord Yamaraj. Owl is the sawari of Lakshmi. Crow is the sawari of Shani (Saturn ), one of the navgrahs or 9 planets. Frog ( manduk ) is the name of one of our Puranas,” will Sakshi Maharaj will demand the death penalty for cruelty to animals in such cases? Why can’t be first victim of the death penalty if Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Food Processing Industries who are responsible for the Meat export which is now a $5 billion industry, not only replacing basmati rice as the biggest revenue earner in India’s processed foods category, but also making India the world’s second-biggest meat exporter. In the Pink http://www.businesstoday.in/magazine/features/buffalo-meat-exports-thriving-under-narendra-modi-government/story/217143.html If BJP is ruled centuries ago they would have eradicated Aryans of the Rig Veda who killed cows for purposes of food and ate beef is abundantly, asked death penalty for Swami vivekananda and Father of Indian constitution Dr.Ambedkar. Ambedkar On Beef-Eating And Hinduism http://www.countercurrents.org/ambedkar050315.htm In the Vedas there is a mention of around 250 animals out of which at least 50 were supposed to be fit for sacrifice and consumption. In the Mahabharata there is a mention of a king named Rantideva who achieved great fame by distributing food grains and beef to Brahmins. Taittiriya Brahman categorically tells us: `Verily the cow is food’ (atho annam via gauh) and Yajnavalkya insistence on eating the tender (amsala) flesh of the cow is well known. Even later Brahmanical texts provide the evidence for eating beef. Even Manusmriti did not prohibit the consumption of beef.Is RSS political wing BJP ready to debate on this holy relics or they will ban those books? If Narendra Modi the prime minister is a product of the United Progressive Alliance’s policy paralysis, the politico Modi remains the progeny of the Godhra carnage. The shiv sena is right in their assessment “No Godhra means no Modi” . In the same note “No Beef ban No BJP”. Former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju right in his statement , “Our politicians of all parties are mostly a set of rogues who should have been hanged a long time back”. Sadly Mahatma Gandhi India which showed ‘Ahimsa'(Non violence) is being long silenced by Nathuram Godse. Now BJP is busy wiping Gandhi’s once for all and removed ‘A’ from ‘Ahimsa’ and resorted to ‘Himsa’ by polarising the diversified nation. Jai hind

ARE THEY HUMANS? “Family say Saudi juvenile offender could be beheaded imminently after he is moved by jail!!” Mr al-Nimr was sentenced to death for his involvement in anti-government protests when he was 16 or 17 years old. The young man’s case has been the subject of fervent campaigning from rights groups including Amnesty International and Reprieve, who say he was tortured and forced to sign a false confession before being sentenced to “death by crucifixion”. They have continued to argue that to behead and crucify someone arrested as a juvenile is “indefensible”. Mr al-Nimr’s mother, Nusra al-Ahmed, has claimed she has seen the evidence of the torture, with scars on his forehand and broken and missing teeth. His family believe the sentence could be linked to the fact they are part of the Shia minority. He had joined a protest appealing for equal rights for Shias in Saudi Arabia, during a wave of demonstrations three years ago. Mr al-Nimr’s family have claimed that he is being referred to as “that Shia boy” and not as a Saudi citizen, potentially highlighting a sectarian element to this case.

“Not only they were silent, famous writers like Sunil Ganguly and Shankha Ghosh appealed to Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, the then CM of West Bengal, to ban my book” – Shankaranna quoting Taslima. Dear Shankara-anna, The Left and progressives have failed in confronting one specific ideology all over the world. They don’t mind attacking sanaathana dharma, Christianity or Judaism. However, they turn into one of the most pathetic apologists when it comes to one specific ideology. Honestly, in my opinion, they are afraid of being harmed or even killed. They have seen what happens to those who try to question this ideology. We all remember Charlie Habdo. So, the Left and progressives have been bullied into supporting the same ideology that is totally opposite of what they believe and fight for. This explains why our secular writers and media are running for cover when someone mentions ‘peaceful’ groups!! Sad but true!! smiles…

“Uniform Civil Code will Destroy National Integration” – Report quoting some organization based in gulf region. This sums up all you need to know about today’s twisted, regressive, anti-freedom, anti-democratic groups who are openly advocating for religion-based, anti-secular society while hiding behind ‘secular’ banner!!!! The very essence of democracy and free world is equal rights for everyone under one-set of rules for all. The resistance to uniform civil code is coming from the same groups who always demand ‘special treatment’ from Bharatha to Canada!! Wherever they go, they don’t want to follow the law of land, they would rather have their own laws based on a 7th century book. In an ideal democracy, both progressive groups and media would support Uniform Civil code. However, India being a third-world nation, even an uniform civil code will be seen as a RSS agenda!! Oh well…

    • From B.N.Pai on Kuwait: Uniform Civil Code will Destroy National Integration - IKFS warns

In an ideal democracy, both progressive groups and media would support Uniform Civil code. YES, RSS TELLS ABOUT AN UTOPIAN DEMOCRACY. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE DEMOCRACY UNDER THE SUN, WHERE “Uniform Civil code” EXISTS. RSS PAI TELLS ABOUT “An ideal democracy”. HE KNOWS THAT IDEAL IS A THING WHICH COULD BE ONLY AIMED AT, BUT NEVER BE ACHIEVED. FOR, THE MOMENT SOME THING AIMED AT IS ACHIEVED, IT CEASES TO BE AN IDEAL!!! RSS AND DUPLICATE NEVER PLACE A DRAFT OF THE UNIFORM CIVIL CODE, WHICH THEY WOULD ENACT AS THE LAW. EVEN THE COURTS ARE IRRESPONSIBLE AND EVASIVE. THEY TOO SAY IT SHOULD BE UNIFORM. BUT, TAKE IT FROM ME, IF A UNIFORM CIVIL CODE IS ENACTED, THE COURTS WOULD IMMEDIATELY STRIKE DOWN MANY PROVISIONS OF THE LAW, SAYING THAT THEY ARE ULTRA VIRUS THE CONSTITUTION OR THE TENETS OF DEMOCRACY!!! FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN CONGRESS ENACTED BAN ON COW SLAUGHTER IN THE INITIAL DAYS OF OUR DEMOCRACY, DUE TO MANY HINDU MINDED CONGRESS LEADERS, IT WAS OUR SUPREME COURT WHICH STRUCK THEM DOWN ON THE GROUND OF VIOLATION OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS. NOW, THE COURTS HAVE BEGUN TO BRING IN BAN ON SLAUGHTER OF COW COW-PROGENY CITING THE DIRECTIVE PRINCIPLES OF STATE POLICY OF OUR CONSTITUTION. THESE SUGGESTIONS ARE FLAWED, FOR DIRECTIVE PRINCIPLES OF STATE POLICY ARE “NOT JUSTICIABLE”, WHERE AS THE PROVISIONS OF PART III OF THE CONSTITUTION ENSHRINING THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS ARE. HOWEVER, THE COURTS ARE INDULGING IN REVERSING THE JUST AND FAIR DECISIONS GIVEN EARLIER ON SOUND GROUND OF EQUALITY AND DEMOCRACY.

It’s amazing how some of these journalists can criticize opposition party for the failure of ruling party and then play victim!!! Even though I am not a big fan of Iswarappa and his unsophisticated language, he is right in this case. The same media when he passionately protested on the same topic in the past. Now, they are criticizing him for not protesting enough!! Shows the sad situation of journalism and political discourse in our society!! Also, this notion that every crime can be stopped is purely an infantile understanding of reality. There is no way a ruling govt (Congress or BJP) can stop every single crime. In fact, in some of these rape case, the culprits are either friends or family members of victim!! What Govt should do is go after these culprits and make sure that they get thrown behind bars. The fear of stringent punishment may deter some of the future criminals. Unfortunately, media just wants to sensationalize every story and encourage blame game between political parties.

“Peace talks are not possible when one country is sheltering terrorists” says Sudhreendra Kulkarni after strongly advocating peace talks and Modiji’s attendance in SARC. This pretty much summarizes the paradoxical state of those who support peace talks with terrorist nation. We all know that peace is not possible when the other side is ALWAYS engaged in aggression and violence. A better relation is IMPOSSIBLE when the other side is not willing to give in an inch!! This is true with India-Pakistan or Israel-Palestenian situations. Nobody wants war. All of us want peaceful life. However, it doesn’t mean that you need to bend over backwards, accept enemy aggression and demands possibly leading to a complete destruction of your own identity. This is why we need to show strength first. At least, Mr.Sudheendra is honest enough to admit that Pakistaan is sheltering and training terrorists. As to the ‘ink attack’ episode, I hope that Sudheendra takes legal actions on those attackers. It may be hard to prove that the action was sanctioned by Shiva Sena. However, it shouldn’t be a problem to catch those who actually did it and send them to jail on assault charges. It should send a clear message to all the future troublemakers.

You were taken out from the Railway because you didn’t bring the FDI by the billions into the Indian Railway within months after taking the job; an impossible task imposed by the task master. Now your headaches are going to be very severe migraine headaches facing an head on collision course with the Supreme Court of India, the supreme head of the law and order mechanism of India. The autocratic rule of the BJP Government was going in rounds to suppress the fundamental freedom of the citizens of India on the one hand, on the other hand trying to put a chock hold on the whole nation as a prelude to establish a theocratic autocracy; but the game plans are being backfired one after another, finally with the Supreme Court of India. The overconfidence of the BJP Government to play with the rule and law of India to enslave them under their total control was a totally miscalculated agenda, wait and watch.

The eminent persons shall be nominated for a period of three years and shall not be eligible for re-nomination. The 98th constitutional amendment is mathematically irrational, for to make any choice by a majority, the committee must have odd number of members and not even number of members. Then only a tie while taking decision would not occur and always a majority decision is assured. Even number of members, at time would give a verdict having equal numbers on both sides, thereby causing a stalemate. No sane prime minister or law minister would ever cause any such committee to get a majority decision on any matter! They may fool people irrationally, not maths!!!

The government has called their protest a manufactured protest. Now noted Bangladeshi writer and exile Taslima Nasrin has also entered the fray. In an interview to TOI’s Sagarika Ghose she asks why writers were silent when she was being persecuted. What is your response to the fact that so many writers in India have returned their Sahitya Akademi awards? Writers have decided to protest against injustices by returning their awards. There is nothing wrong with it. Sometimes somebody gets an idea, others like it. Do you agree with the government that this is a manufactured protest with a political agenda? I do not think so. Writers are politically and socially conscious people. READ ALSO: Government, not Sahitya Akademi, responsible for law and order Do you feel the writers were silent when you were targeted? Most writers were silent when my book was banned in West Bengal, when 5 fatwas were issued against me in India, when I was thrown out of West Bengal, when I was kept under house arrest in Delhi for months and was forced to leave India, when my mega serial for TV was banned. I have been struggling alone for the right to live here and for my freedom of expression. Not only they were silent, famous writers like Sunil Ganguly and Shankha Ghosh appealed to Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, the then CM of West Bengal, to ban my book. Are writers guilty of double standards when it comes to dissent? Yes, I agree. Many writers are guilty of double standards when it comes to dissent.

Unfortunately, many religious bigots are hiding behind ‘secular’ banner to selectively attack sanaathana dharma these days.-Atheist Mr.Original Pai Sir,Is Sanathan Dharma is part of Atheism you worship? Jews used anti semitic as a weapon to silence the critics when religious atrocities committed against Muslims and Christians what they termed as ‘promised land’ humanity. Now Modi’s India run by RSS is also following the steps of Guruji’s who glorified Hitler purging the country of the semitic races(Jews). Critics have accused Golwalkar of being a fascist, pointing to his extreme right-wing views expressed in the 1939 book, We, Our Nationhood Defined. In it, Golwalkar writes: “To keep up the purity of the Race and its culture, Germany shocked the world by her purging the country of the semitic Races – the Jews. Race pride at its highest has been manifested here. Germany has also shown how well nigh impossible it is for Races and cultures, having differences going to the root, to be assimilated into one united whole, a good lesson for us in Hindusthan to learn and profit by.”[14] “Ever since that evil day, when Moslems first landed in Hindustan, right up to the present moment, the Hindu Nation has been gallantly fighting on to take on these despoilers. The Race Spirit has been awakening.”[15] – M. S. Golwalkar It is never in Indian history so many intellectuals returning the awards at once. How did you forget the outrage of Saffron fanatics of RSS sister organistation protested by buring and damaging late MF Hussain painting? Why does he remains silent on the daily ‘Moral police’, ‘cow chase’ and ‘communal clash’? Good lesson for the Advocate! In order not to draw the attention of thieves, people with cars should always get in the habit of putting all their: baggage, shopping, cash, and anything always in the boot (Dicky), and thus nobody notices. Leaving attache cases, shopping bags, ipads, iphones, laptops, etc., will only attract thieves. The police always come after the crime is done – safety, security, and proactive detection is non existant in India, and more so in Mangalore or Bangalore.

Just three days ago, our dear Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of the Pejawar Math received a distinguished visitor from Gujarat. Mr Adani. The same Adani who provided planes to the globetrotter before the Lok Sabha elections. The same Adani who has holding companies in Mauritius where tax is 3%. The Swamiji requested Adani to make sure that the thermal power plant of Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) near Padubidri does not heap miseries on the locals. Just today the mega coal project of Adani in Australia (for which the globetrotter had paid a visit earlier) received the go ahead. Shortly the coal from Australia will find its way to Mangaluru port, heaped there in mountains, and then transported to UPCL by open trucks. Imagine the coal dust flying in the air! Coal dust is more dangerous than tobacoo – for all kinds of respiratory illnesses. The Mangalurean people will have no say on the matter. They will be compelled to breathe in the coal dust. Who will protest? The only protests we see in Mangaluru are either for religious reasons, or against the state Congress. Dear Mangalureans, you thought so far that roads, road-ethics and garbage were the major problems. Get ready for the mother of all problems – slow death though the coal dust, thanks to Adani’s UPCL!

To be fair, I didn’t see any ‘threat’ in the message shown above even though the language and content is beyond nauseating. This is unfortunately the new reality in the world of internet and social media. There is no way you can police everyone. I think Facebook provides enough tools to screen posts before making them public. I would encourage everyone to use these tools to effectively block, censor unwanted characters. As long as there are no threats, I think it is a waste of time to spend resources to catch a mentally sick guy!

I still don’t understand how this man can walk freely!! I wouldn’t call him a scam artist. But he is clearly a failed businessman with no talent whatsoever! BoddappaNNA does not borrow money (not in the sense like other countries do). They SIMPLY GRAB it – hook or crook! Therein lies the genius!
Why Is Henry Kissinger Walking Around Free?
On September 11, 2013, hundreds of thousands of Chileans solemnly marked the 40th anniversary of their nation’s 9/11 terrorist event. It was on that date in 1973 that the Chilean military, armed with a generous supply of funds and weapons from the United States, and assisted by the CIA and other operatives, overthrew the democratically-elected government of the moderate socialist Salvador Allende. Sixteen years of repression, torture and death followed under the fascist Augusto Pinochet, while the flow of hefty profits to US multinationals – IT&T, Anaconda Copper and the like – resumed. Profits, along with concern that people in other nations might get ideas about independence, were the very reason for the coup and even the partial moves toward nationalization instituted by Allende could not be tolerated by the US business class. ————————————————————————-

I don’t understand…….The clueless Indian media had projected him as a genius when he was borrowing money to keep his failed airlines floating for a while! – Rampa What have you EVER understood? But then, that’s never the point hereabouts! Let alone the the “clueless Indian Media”, ya Rampa! Just FORGET about your ENTIRE Akhanda Bharatha – a “3rd-world nation” – something which you NEVER tire of blabbering – thereby leading much credence to your Pradhana Sevaka’s statement – “Earlier, you were ASHAMED to be born Indians”! Ahem! Now, let us take a first-world country – aka – your beloved BoddappANNA. At the time Nixon was running for reelection and only the day before he wrote the note he appeared on national TV in the US and said the bombing was ‘very, very effective’. Richard Nixon privately thought that the bombing of Vietnam achieved ‘zilch’ despite publicly claiming that it was a success. A secret archive of the former US President has revealed that in 1972 Nixon thought that the air campaign which killed tens of thousands of civilians was useless. He wrote a note to Henry Kissinger, his national security adviser, which said there was ‘something wrong’ with strategy. The note from January 3 1972, was written on the side of a top-secret memo updating the President on war developments. Nixon wrote: ‘K. We have had 10 years of total control of the air in Laos and V.Nam. The result = Zilch. There is something wrong with the strategy or the Air Force.’ Other notes shows that Nixon, frustrated by the resistance of the North Vietnamese’ wanted to ‘punish the enemy’ and ‘go for broke’. Woodward writes that Nixon stepped up the bombing to ensure that he won the election. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3268661/Richard-Nixon-thought-bombing-Vietnam-achieved-zilch-despite-publicly-claiming-success-according-forgotten-note-written-1972.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/nixon-years-of-bombing-in-vietnam-achieved-zilch/2015/10/11/1c08a2f6-6f64-11e5-91eb-27ad15c2b723_video.html ——————————————– Lol….. how people have SELECTIVE memories once they are ACROSS the pond and are swimming in a fishbowl…. year after year…running over the same ground..(TY Pink Floyd). 🙂 And we haven’t even STARTED with the American riches post a land-grab, WWI/II….the blind-eye to Palestine, genocide in Iraq/Afghanistan/Libya etc. Pull up your Khakhi dhogla chaddis, bro. Somehow, our US-rejected, Saudi-returned Praveena Pinto is proud of blaming either Shree Narendra Bhai Modiji or Doddanna for everything. For example, my post was on failure of our judiciary system to punish rich and powerful while poor and weak are given harsh punishment. While this is true in almost all societies, it reaches an extreme imbalance in Bharatha as we see in cases like Mallya, salmaan Khaan etc. When I make this very valid point, he brings up Richard Nixon from 70s. LOL Unbelievable!! Nobody should be surprised by his inability to think rationally and respond with reasonable points. As I pointed earlier, this limitation is a direct result of biological and cultural factors. I have been working with him on regular basis to minimize the damage.

I was commenting on your needless jibe – “useless Indian media” and often-failed cliche – “3rd world country”! And then, I asked you forget about it for reasons provided by you – “lousy… 3rd world”)! In contrast, I brought out dear old Nick from the 70’s – and what was published (by the American media – as told by to them), & the truth about good-old Nick. And then, Rampa reacts – OUCH (Oh no! Just Standard Operating Procedure or SOP – just like a cat on a hot tin roof! 🙂 And never mind the fact that the US media is top-notch & straighter than a straight-line and the country in question is a 1st-world one, and the time-frame was the 70’s! His sincere failure to be logical and rational in his responses is a true tragedy and part of this should be blamed on his foreign masters for creating a culture of ignorance in certain quarters of our society!! He simply can’t comprehend the difference between a failed foreign policy and failed a domestic institution.

His sincere failure to be logical and rational in his responses is a true tragedy and part of this should be blamed on his foreign masters for creating a culture of ignorance in certain quarters of our society!! – Rampa Err, Herr Rampa, Some clarifications are needed here: 1. WHY are you in the land of my alleged “masters”? After all, THEY CREATED a culture of ignorance! Ya ya…. go on….agree to my rebuttal as to why humankind is the ONLY species to migrate for BETTER FULOOS and a lifestyle! (No rebuttal on THAT! poor Murugam Pai!) 2. Are Indian “masters” no lesser manipulative? So why JUST blame the “clueless Indian media”? Isn’t the bigger game to blame for lesser stuff? 3. What is the L x B x H of your ample RSS chaddi? I thought it was soooo accommodating’. Sadly, it doesn’t! And why are academics tossing their awards in Modi’s Khanike Hundi? 4. Any rebuttal on the ‘posse’s’ formed by the RSS chaddis way back in INDIA….vis a vis in the lands of your NEwfoundland? Rampa…. Do some HW. And revert.

Unfortunately, all parties are guilty of this – Yettinahole project will go on and mangaluru will have to learn how to live with less water in in nethravathi. You are correct. Many NGOs are chocked now including some big names. The Indian Government got some stern warning from other Governments about this double action, so the BJP Government will be reverting the decision. Now trying to snatch the orphans. The BJP would be delighted to start the “devadasi” system in all the Temples in India, which is being practiced in some States even today. Those are very advanced system of culture, civility and democracy. India is now flying at the supersonic speed in the cultural advancement bypassing the western world. The Foreign Minister is now appealing to the NRIs to land in India to clean the dirty rivers starting with the holy Ganges, appealed at her visit in Maladives, from the land where they eat a lot of beef; the sinners land. Can we fathom the depth of advancement in India since BJP came into power? Someway, Varun Gandhi after his marriage to a girl who was graduated from the St. Stepehn’s college, keeping quite and disappointed. He may be feeling terribly bad and sad in the game plan of Mr. Modi and the Gujarathi clique to wipe off the Gandhi name from the chapters of India. Since he has studied at one of the best Universities in the world, the London School of Economics, he will get some sense one day to read the writing on the wall.

I have been following Maneka Gandhi’s life from the time she married Sanjay Gandhi. She is a stupid person. After marrying Sanjay Gandhi, her spouse became the de facto king during the emergency period. She used to accompany him everywhere and though her spouse was not a Member of Parliament, he was accorded VVIP status and once Rajiv Gandhi, having commandeered a flight and landed and was returning home, had to wait for a long time for Sanjay and Maneka Gandhi’s motorcade to pass by before his vehicle could proceed. One should read THE RED SARI by Javier Moro to know more about her. The first time Sanay Gandhi brought Maneka Gandhi home, she was over-awed by the surroundings and when Indira Gandh met her and enquired about her, she was all at see while answering. It appears that at least with Indira Gandhi, she cut a sorry figure. I am told that her foundation pays money to all those who take care of stray dogs and cats. I presume one person that I know is a recipient of her foundation’s largesse.

Sir, when ex-prime minister Vajpayee wanted to oust this very Modi from the chief minister’s post of Gujarat for indulging in Godhra and post Godhra and to up hold “raja dharma”, Advani crookedly saved him, but to be amply rewarded by “the treachery and deceit of the saved to the saver” !! Likewise, the RSS wants to destroy the very concept of reservation by reservation itself, I.E. by providing “reservation to all”, virtually undoing reservation itself. If benefits of reservation is “given to all”, does the concept of reservation hold any water? it is like giving monetary benefits to the rich by declaring all to be poor!!! Muslim rulers of this country tried all their best to convert this to muslim country by forceful conversions, destroying temples but hindus did not let it happen. In pakistan everyday temples are destroyed but here they talk about demolision of 1 babri masjid..which is the birth place of our Lord Ram, if it was in pakistan hindu temple would have demolished overnight and no media would have covered it. Since www.mangalorean.com has not given the opportunity to readers to express their thoughts and views on unrelated topics, I am writing on this forum as a response. Please excuse me. I am a person who tries to be unprejudiced in my views and expresses my views without fear or favour. In fact, I stopped a person who got an offer from taking up employment in Saudi Arabia. I simply told him that Saudi Arabia is not a right place for a professional, a broad-minded person with liberal views and live-and-let-live attitude, but the right place for people to earn livelihood, if they are enslaved to vices like gambling, women, alcohol or one is a thoroughly orthodox, conservative and ultra-conservative or lacks zest for living, apart from work, cooking, eating, praying, going to answer the calls of nature and shooting-the-breeze. I have lived in Saudi Arabia and while I was in Bahrain, I got another opportunity to go to that amazing, mystical and enigmatic place, but I told the prospective Saudi employer a BIG THANK YOU and GOOD BYE. He was just amazed, because I declined a generous offer. So far, the best book that I read about Saudi Arabia was “THE PRINCESS” written incognito by a Princess of the Saudi Royal Family and on 07th October I began reading “IN THE LAND OF INVISIBLE WOMEN: A FEMALE DOCTOR’S JOURNEY IN THE SAUDI KINGDOM” by Dr. Qanta A. Ahmed, M.D., a certified pulmologist and sleep specialist. This book is 561 pages and has small print, but worth reading. In spite of its incredible wealth due to oil, this country has an ancient/medieval mindset and somehwere on the Youtube I had learnt that Saudis are the second laziest people on this earth. Though Saudis lack the grey matter, though much intelligent than Pahans, they tend to be proud, arrogant and perpetually feel that with money they can buy anyone and break the laws of the countries that they visit or are in. For example, the furore created due to a senior diplomatic official having good time with Nepalese servants in Gurgaon/Delhi.

  • From Mangal on New Delhi: Missionaries of Charity may shut down 13 orphanages

People of the past were illiterate and uneducated. They believed in many things. The religions that sprang up were built on such blind beliefs. The notion of strictly two genders – male and female – is no different. The religions made it a sin to even let such people practice what was bestowed upon them by nature. To the great fortune of the human race, a few thinkers in liberal countries of Europe in more recent years disagreed with the wrong notion of strictly two genders. The liberal countries formulated laws to not discriminate against the sexual minorities. The Christian nuns must look at the example set by Jesus. Jesus must have been a very liberal thinker. He never excluded anyone from the ‘kingdom of God’. Everyone was welcome! Pope Francis has openly been very inclusive of gay people. Unfortunately for the people long set in their ways, the Pope’s message has not trickled down. Possibly it never will. So, the nuns in question here are living in the ignorant past. But does this mean that the minister or the Indian government are great? Possibly not. The British Crown started administering India in 1858 (abolishing the rights of the East India Company Ltd after he mutiny of 1857). Within two years, the Crown came up with the IPC that declared, among others, that being gay is illegal. And, ever since, every Indian of every description is bound by this all-powerful IPC. IPC may be ancient, but it is still alive and kicking on every conceivable matter – including the illegality of gay life! In 2013 the Indian Supreme Court needed to pass a verdict on the matter, but ended up upholding the ancient beliefs! The Indian Government believes that respecting gay rights is not Indian culture. So, both the Indian Government and the nuns are sailing together.

If The Missionaries of Charity close their homes, the bigger losers will be the orphaned children, as so many orphaned children will find it difficult to find a similar loving a caring place to live. Hence, in the interest of these children the government should rethink its policies.

Hence, in the interest of these children the government should rethink its policies.” Sir, for Modi and the RSS cows are more important than the orphaned children. Go-Shaalaas would be set up in those premises. Sisters of charity would be replaced by Svayam Sevaks to look after the cows. Money would be supplied by the government for such Go-shaalaas in every village and the Svayam Sevaks would be given unlimited funds, for cow is god. DEFEATED THE CONGRESS AND MAKE INDIA CONGRESS MUKT !!!

It gives me immense pleasure and happiness to see a lazy person like Dony waking up @ 3 am in the morning and cycling to glory!!! I have known and seen you for at least a couple decades living a sedentary lifestyle. Now, can’t believe 8 months of cycling has made you a star not only externally, but internally as well. I’m aware, any cardio related exercise pumps more oxygen into the body that helps in healing the body by generating beneficial chemicals such as serotonin and endorphin. you have just begun the process of reversing the aging process and have shown people that age lies only in the mind and the body will just follow. You’ve have shown the younger generation that they can achieve whatever they want, if they are willing to pay the price. As the say goes “nothing comes for free, everyone has to pay the price. Don’t worry about breaking and making records. enjoy the ride to glory. It’s a pleasure to know that Manglorean.com have made my brother a motivated budding cycling star. Also thanks to Kishan my good old buddy for standing by him with his great support, grit and motivation in kicking my brother’s ass in pushing him to the limits. All the best to both Dony and Kishan. You’re the living example to the current generation heading towards sedentary lifestyle.

If you criticize a Hindu organization doing the same, you are a brave secular fighting against right-wing ‘moral police’ brigade. If you criticize the same rules when practiced by a a Christian organization, you are almost immediately a bigot who hates Orphans getting a good life!! LOL This is why it’s a waste of time to reason with self-hating community!! smiles… Read the following report to get a clear picture: http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/10/09/447191942/mother-teresas-missionaries-of-charity-says-no-more-adoptions-in-india While these Charities are doing a great job of helping Orphans, these individuals are unfortunately influenced by religious dogma. They openly discriminate against singles, divorced, couples where one of them had a divorce earlier and homosexuals. This incident reminds me of Kim Davis in Kentucky, US who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples resulting in a huge controversy! As our society gets more liberal, these religious guys are going to find themselves in a more and more awkward position. What’s more unfortunate are the intellectual dishonesty and ignorance displayed by individuals like Roy and AS Mathews who don’t think twice before attacking people purely based on religious dogma taught by their masters. Sad and depressing but very true!!

Mr. Orginal R. Pai, the budgeting of the Women and Child Development undertaken by Menaka Gandhi was reduced to 50% in the budget by Arun Jaitley, she went to see AJ to add more to the budget but no good result. If the orphans are adopted by cruel minded people from broken homes, what validity it has for the false promise of the Minister that they will check about the safety of the orphans? You can find fault with me and Roy, that is your freedom of expression; but please remember that the double acting of the BJP Government would be severely questioned from many quarters. Like the recent BJP fascination with the cow deity and discarding the human beings, Meneka Gandhi’s real love is for animals; no love for human beings and orphans. So, trusting her word would be the biggest catastrophe, the adopted orphans by weird minded people.

Dear readers, What can one expect from union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi, grew her own son who openly swears Hindu holy relics Geeta to chop Muslims hands? How can we expect something from Minister who says ‘Terrorism Being Funded by Cow Slaughter’,? The Government of India has cancelled licences of around 9,000 NGOs for violating Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. Most of the banned on IB reports that said NGOs as a ‘threat to national economic security’. Why IB and other agencies for keeping a mum on the foreign funding to saffron organization which uses the money for political purpose and creating fissures in the society? How can single, separated or divorced people, who can’t keep their own love together will provide love of ‘Father and mother’? Jai hind

Congratulations to Blany, your hard work is bearing plentiful of fruits which I am sure is appreciated by Mangalorean.com readers as well as people in your neighborhood. It is incredible to know that you do not use pesticide repellent instead Tulsi plants are shielding the vegetation from insects. Thank you for sharing and hope many will follow your great example to enjoy home grown veggies.

Government might have allotted the land for public burial or crematorium in Nandi Gudda. How ever Majority Christians have their own Cemetery and Muslims have their own Al-Dafin place in Mangalore. But Nandi Gudda is a place synonymous to Hindu Religion, since our child hood. It is wise that our Muslim brethren must not insist an allotment within this area. While building their Mosques they should have provision for the same. Can we imagine Hindu Rudra Bhumi adjacent to Muslim Cemetery. Why Mangalore North MLA Moiddin Bawa is advocating or supporting their demand?? Has he not responsible for North Mangalore Constituency????

Dear readers, Politics on eating preference, politics on love, Politics over rape, now politics over death. The narrow minded Hindu fanaticism of RSS sister wing is pushing democratic rights of Indians stone age. Funeral at disputed land triggers communal clash; Masjid, temple attacked http://www.sahilonline.org/newsDetails.php?cid=1&nid=31673 There are similar incident was reported in undivided Canara. After successful use of RSS lab invented ‘Love Jihad’, ‘Cow Jihad’ now ‘land Jihad’ is being tried to foment enmity to divide society. Mark the name of these five people in the picture they are involved in all communal related incident. Unfortunately intelligent people district is silently endorsing ‘Talibanisation’ of Mangalore into another replicating another Syrian state under ISIS control. • From Joe D'Souza on Bengaluru: Anyone Overtaking an Ambulance Liable to Cancellation of Driving Licence - CM

Very good decision by Chief Minister regarding Ambulance overtaking. At this time I wanted to ask a question to CM. Is it alright for a Ambulance to carry little Children to School. I have noticed few times regarding this Ambulance Van Service. A) Ambulance carries many patients with spreadable disease. B) I have closely watched Children eating food with their hands which were touching the Seat where Patients slept. C) Ambulance driver turned on blue light when He reached behind me and I let Him go. But close watching found out Children inside. D) When contacted School, their answer was that it is not their responsibility of what is happening outside school. (Their only responsibility is Collecting Donation from Parents outside the School) E) When contacted the Hospital of this ambulace, their answer was if the Children are mine. F) When contacted RTO,their answer was that they will look into the matter. But They said Ambulance is not supposed to carry. But as usual sweet deal worked out and Ambulances still carry. So I like to know the opinion of Educated Public in this matter and also action for safety of Little Children.
